08-26-2023 10:57I hired 84 Lumber to replace a stairway and rails around my deck. After the work was completed the deck rail was not secure and was shaking which was a safety issue. I informed Aaron Wiemer about the issue and it was ignored until I went into the store with a video and pictures showing that the rail was not secured properly. Mind you the rail is at least 10’ from a concrete patio below. The other issue is that some of the wood used to replace the stairs and posts had a lot of splitting and cracking that occurs with low quality lumber. In addition a lot of the wood was not smooth and has splinters. After several calls about the poor quality they finally came by and attempted to fill the crack unsuccessfully, instead leaving the residue of the filler spread on the wood (totally different color from the wood, and looked a mess). Mind you the job cost over 8k. When I asked to replace the defective and badly cracked post and another defective area on the stairs, I was told Aaron would call me and he never did. Again I returned to the store 2 weeks later, and met with Aaron who had an attitude. He said he would call me in 2 days to let me know when the problem will be fixed. He never did call. We called again and Aaron finally called back and said he had no one to fix the issue, they were all on big jobs and he did not know when someone would be available and even said that I could get someone to give me a quote and then they would look at the quote. He was also very standoffish and said “all woods split” when the issue was addressed with him in the store. In other words why are you bothering me. I felt belittled, unheard and mistreated and devalued. Belittling attitude towards customers and women is unacceptable and no one deserves to be treated in that manner for poor workmanship and material.

06-28-2023 17:57Nothing but problems. The deck company that did my deck was using 84 Lumber for their supply. 84 Lumber missed every single one of their due dates. Said the framing would be out on Thursday... missed. Rep gave a guarantee that it would be out first thing Friday AM... MISSED. The framework finally made it out on Monday late afternoon... That was three days that the building crew was sitting around on their thumbs due to missed/late material deliveries. The actual decking is currently facing the same story, missed the Friday AND Monday delivery and so they are now BLAMING the Vendor for the delays. Blaming them for holding the order and even accidentally CANCELING IT! They are now saying that it will be there mid-morning and will deliver once it arrives. I will not be holding my breath. They say they have done everything they can. I doubt that if the vendor keeps messing up like they say they are GO GET IT FROM THEM! Don't sit on your thumb and regurgitate what you are being told, stop sitting on your thumbs and go look! Why keep having this issue over and over again within the same order! I waited and bit my tongue in hopes they would turn it around, but I am now so fed up with 84 Lumber that I am going to ask the contractors for my other projects who they are using and if they say 84 Lumber I'm going to tell them to find someone else or I'm not accepting the bid.

05-25-2023 11:25Went in to get some lumber and hardware for a home project. They wanted to set me up to visit w someone else who had left for the day (it was 330). Guy I talked to didn't even know they carried hammer drills u0026 went as far as recommending I go to the home Depot down the block. Wasted trip to town. I'll stick with Menard's.
