While I'm sure their in-store experience is halfway decent, I implore you to avoid doing any sort of e-commerce with this shop. I paid for an item via PayPal invoice (because their website would not give free shipping as advertised) from Desmond's personal email, received the wrong item, returned the item, and never received a refund. After being ghosted by email, I had to open and settle a case and finally received my money back through PayPal after a month. If you are not interested in giving out loans, please do not consider spending your time or money here.

I was there couple of months ago to buy a vetra jacket that was on sale. Since I bought from this place before I send them an email to ask if they could put it on hold for me because I wasn’t in Chicago yet but no answer came. I send a second email, still no answer. When I finally made it to Chicago and came to the shop I said very kindly that I send emails and would’ve liked at least an answer instead of being ignored especially since I’m a returning customer. The person that was there was super defensive and snippy. Instead of apologizing he just started constantly snipping at me. I thought to myself fine I just drop it cuz I didn’t wanna get into a discussion but this guy just from now on wouldn’t stop being snippy and rude to me even while I paid the jacket I bought. Very frustrating experience! Edit: when the guys from independence heard of my experience they came forward and were very nice and accommodating. Therefore I changed my rating.

Although there was an unforeseen shipping issue with my order and some mishaps in communication, Desmond and George were able to reach out to me via email and phone and quickly solve the problems with my order. They were able to turn a possible negative online experience into a positive one. Great staff and they carry some great brands.

This store is absolutely perfect in every way for me. They carry such a wide variety of brands that are hard to get anywhere else, and their staff is very well-informed, so you can count on them to help you with any questions, problems, or other things that come up while you are shopping. They are quite kind and helpful, engaging in conversation with you in an open manner while still giving you space to look around. This wonderful boutique is expertly curated with only really trendy clothing and accessories for men, despite the fact that it can be a little challenging to locate So, all in all, the environment, the people working there, and the items for sale are all of the highest possible quality. If you haven't already try going here, then you must give it a shot. Cause its definitely good and worth your time and money.

Ordered a jacket for a new retiree at our company. The jacket was so well made, just beautiful - great gift for a true baseball fan. I ordered a size too small but we were in a time crunch. Called customer service and they shipped the correct size for delivery the next day. The customer service and quality are definitely 5 STAR! Thank you.

I decided to try a pair of Oak Street boots not just because they make an exceptional quality product. But because of their roots and effort in fully embracing Made in America, from design to sourcing materials (Horween) and assembly. Needless to say I was enthused by Oak Street boots but the crippling reality of Chicago rush hour traffic was closing in on my opportunity to give these boots a try. I came down to Chicago for a work conference (from Canada) and luckily I just managed to squeeze in the store a few minutes before closing. I was greeted by Iicky and to his credit he provided an excellent customer experience. I was quickly sized for a pair of legendary Oak Street boots. And we even stayed after the published store hours to find the right pair for me. By far the best retail experience I’ve had in a long time. Huge thanks to Iicky, Independence clothing and Oak Street Bootmakers. Phenomenal way to end my trip on the right foot!
