First time and last time I’ll ever shop there .. customer service nonexistent unless you look like you have money . Went in there after a hard days work to buy a pair of HOKA’s on 9/22/2023 3:30 pm with my 5 year old .. Shoe sales man didn’t even acknowledge that I was standing right in front of him.. Did in-fact acknowledge them well dressed customers .

This is the unfriendliest REI I have been to. Looking to upgrade my snowboard setup for the winter and they couldn’t be bothered to go retrieve a pair of boots that were in stock for me try on. Given the price of the boots, I didn’t want to “just buy online” like the associate suggested, given that snowboard boots are not always true to size. Thankfully the Sac Metro area has 2 additional REIs to visit for my recreational needs.

We purchased two CTY e2.1 bikes last summer. The bikes are great. I'd recommend paying extra for the 2.2 because we often wish for the more powerful assist. While I do recommend the bikes, I would also recommend visiting a real bike shop. Both bikes have been plagued with issues from the beginning due strictly from being built poorly by the shop. There's no grease on any of the metal to metal contact points. None of the 4 pedals were even tightened. The stem face plate bolts were not torqued and the bolts joining the stem with the steer tube were loose to the point that the handlebars moved independently of the front wheel after a couple rides. Quite dangerous.

REI alleys had something I need, today I bought a hydration pack for trail running. I got all the help I needed to figure out how to use it and they were having a sale. A membership is a great value. I recommend

Great not crowded at all. Went to look for running items. Everyone here is very helpful..

Lots of outdoor gear here. I’m old fashion when it comes to certain items so we stopped by to check out an outdoor stove. They have a lot of items on display to give customers a good feel of what they are buying.

REI never disappoints. I love the consistency all over the country. Outstanding service at this location. Especially Wyatt and the team working on 08/10 (Thursday). Each staff member went above and beyond. Much appreciated.

Awful return experience!! My Hokas tread completely disintegrated in three months of regular use, and when I tried to return it during their “great return policies timeframe” they wouldn’t take it because they called it normal wear and tear. What shoe has a lifespan of only 3 months?? No one told me that when I bought them and I think no one would expect that limited timeline of a high-end shoe. But the customer service staff was rude and unhelpful as they didn’t accept the return and suggested I simply buy a new pair of HOKAs every few months. Certainly won’t be doing that at this store.
