John Bell House- City Centre (Campus Accommodation)

The reason it gets one star is for being centrally located that's it. The rooms were small and dirty, the garbage was not cleared for 3 days And the linen ws not changed either. The floors were sticky and dirty. The sink was clogged amd so was the shower. There is phone but for all complaints you have to go personally down to the reception and complain. After asking the reception to clear the garbage everyday for three days we finally had to put everything in a plastic bag me leave it there. So as I was saying I did not like my stay at JOHN BELL HOUSE. Thank you.

Best place for budget accommodation right near the town centre. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great rooms but not very clean. The floor and room table were dirty and the bathroom was not well cleaned. Good option to save money, that's all!

scam artists. heating didn't work for 3 months. shower doesn't work properly. silverfish infestation. electric would turnoff randomly at night cutting off our fridge. now they force us to pay an extra month's rent after they said we're out of our contract because of the corona and ontop of that they're suddenly asking us to pay 50 quid a month to hold our stuff. SURPRISE FEES AND HORRIBLE SERVICE. Avoid avoid avoid.

Stayed in Courtyard Room 8 for one night. John Bell is a hotel housed in the Queen University student accommodation and a grand looking building it is too. Basically, the rooms aren’t being used by the students, so they’re rented out to tourists. As you can imagine with purpose built student accommodations offered by universities, the rooms are like studio apartment with kitchen for cooking and utensils and a kettle are provided, but not cooking pots. The room, bathroom and kitchen were very clean on entry, and Wifi worked great. It was pretty warm when entering the room, which was very welcome because it was a cold February day. Bathroom was very compact but lots of hot water from the shower and tap. Plenty of towels were provide, maybe not as fluffy as hotels, but were fine. The bed was comfortable and I had no problem getting a good nights sleep. Location wise. it’s practically in the city centre and close to the main amenities, although the Cathedral Quarter is a bit further at about 15 minutes walk. Excellent value for money for what you get. One annoying thing is that they don't have left luggage facilities and won't keep bags for you. So the next best option is to leave it at the Visit Belfast Tourist Office opposite the city hall.

One night stay in July, inconvenient check in times, arrived to room, bed was unchanged and filthy dirty with no sheets, pillow cases or duvet covers. We complained and the bed was improved but not worth talking about. Only positive is location. The reason for the delay in reviewing is the more I think about this place the more people deserve to know the story. My advice steer well clear!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights during our city trip to Belfast. Very good location, all hotspots could be reached on foot. Beds were small for 2 persons, but they warn for this beforehand so we knew what to expect. Room was generally clean, only the toilet brush was quite disgusting en certainly not cleaned after the previous visitors. Overall good value for money on a great location in Belfast.

Absolutely loved it.Basic room but clean and very comfortable. Were else would you get a room in a hotel 51.00 and right in the centre of the city.I cant recommend this place enough.Staff helpful and very welcoming. I will definetly be back.

One of the worst accommodation experiences ever, and I do travel a lot. The only reason for 2nd star is very kind security lady that was very sympathetic to our situation, but unfortunately couldn't help to resolve the it (she tried). Unfortunately upon our arrival we discovered that our room was not cleaned at all since last guest, the bedding was full of body hair, stains and other suspicious marks. Shower didn't had essentials such as shower gel, or even soap, towels were provided for one person, while we booked double room for two .We submitted official complain, which is still pending.
