Churchill's Hotel

Family room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Room very spacious and well decorated. Instructions perfect and easy to follow. Great price and great location and look forward to staying here again.

From the outside its not much to look at but the rooms are newly refurbished and very nicely furnished. The bathroom was large, very nice and clean and checking in and out was easy. Right in the centre of town but unfortunately we wasn't aware that the town hall opposite on Wednesday mornings has a very loud bootcamp/workout session of somekind going on for about 3 hours with really, really loud pumping music. Could almost not hear it when the windows were closed but wasn't what I was expecting to hear before 6am. Also unfortunately for us they were re-doing the main road which was outside of our room so from about 12 till 2am they were digging up the road.

We were pleased with the room and instructions were good. Room and bathroom was lovely and clean and spacious, didnt need to use heating etc. Only negative was I was needing to use a hairdryer, but I checked on room amenities and it wasn't mentioned so that's fine. Please be aware there are stairs and no lift. We ate at Wetherspoons for breakfast and evening meal which is a short walk from the hotel. Would use again if I am around that way. THANKS

Stayed here for 1 night 11th March 2023. Happy to review 5/5 for the following reasons : Easy to find with a free car park some 70 yards away. We accessed the property to the rear using codes provided by email /text. The key was accessed via a box on the wall next to the door. Very straight forward and seen a lot abroad. The room was excellent, large and very clean. The shower provided plenty of hot water. My credit card appeared to have been debited for two nights stay. Having spoken with Danny and Roger the owner, this was quickly rectified, thank you. Appears to have been a mistake on behalf of the booking agent The purpose of our visit was to see our team play at Barnsley. A bus 200 yards down the road took us to the town centre. If you need to eat would highly recommend the Chinese lantern close to the hotel. Wombwell was good for a night out, plenty of music on and a Weatherspoons opposite for breakfast. If in the area again I would be happy to stay here.

We have stayed here twice now. Great location on a main street near pubs. Refurbished rooms. Our Deluxe Double was spacious with a great bathroom. Check in is remote through text message/email and pretty straight forward. We will definitely be staying here again.

Lovely, warm room, very clean and spacious. Pillows were a bit lumpy and WiFi wasn't very good. Couldn't access the key box so had to phone someone who was very helpful. There is a shared kitchen with mini fridges, toaster, microwave and air fryer. We enjoyed our stay ☺️

Arrived late at night and from the outside this place was not as straight forward and welcoming looking as we would have liked, being tired from travelling, we just wanted to get settled in, we thought we had made a mistake and wished we’d booked the Premier Inn. BUT….from the inside it was a different matter, once we got passed all the stairs with suitcases 😬 The rooms were lovely, much better than we were expecting. They were clean and spacious. The bathroom was great too and had everything we needed. So, as we booked just a room, it served our purpose perfectly so the 5 stars are for the room only as I cannot fault the room in any way and had a great sleep ready for our onward journey. 👍

Stayed here before (2,5 years ago) Used to be run by the pub, but isn't anymore. Don't let the area think it is a bad hotel, once you enter through the backdoor it's a completely different world. Had no trouble getting the key and the room is similar as last time, clean and modern. Found a pair of cuffs hanging on the lights above the bed, unfortunatly I am visiting by myself so have no use for them 😋 someone had fun for sure... Pub stopped serving food, which is a shame because it was really good, but it's still a good hotel for its price. Pics are from last visit...
