HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Overall had a fantastic stay at this hotel and recommend it to everyone, but a few minor details that drop it to a 4/5 in my experience. Some noteworthy takeaways: - The customer service at this hotel is excellent, including the housekeeping. Seamless check-in and check-out. - The design of the rooms seems to be aesthetic over functionality (we stayed in a King Bed Corner Room). Light switches are located at very inconvenient spots, requiring you to get up and walk down a long corridor to turn off. Mirror was cracked and did not light up, bedside reading light did not work, and there was a lack of bedside outlets. - Gorgeous brand-new hotel and amenities. - Hotel restaurant, The Commodore, was very disappointing. Terrible service requiring long waits, and for the price ($160 for 2) I was disappointed that the best part of my meal were the French fries. - Heated bathroom floors which honestly almost make up for all the minor inconveniences! - This is out of the hotels control of course, but anyone looking to stay here soon be aware that there is lots of construction in the area, and it was common to wake up to the noise of jackhammers and construction machinery. - Great location, about a 20 minute walk to Old Montreal and lots of great shopping areas and restaurants nearby. - Shower leaked from the corner creating a massive puddle each time on the wood vinyl floors, had to lay a bunch of towels down to keep it dry.

Montreal has many wonderful hotels and it is definitely one of them. Hotel is beautiful, spacious, modern. Staff are very helpful, even when they run into small problems they are very patient and responsive. Nothing to complain. Will highly recommend.

Amazing trip! Definitely worthy of a 5 star! From the moment we pulled our car up to the front door, we were greeted by one of the hotel staff. He was extremely polite and helpful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and comfortable and quiet. Just what I needed for a birthday weekend. The hotel is situated in the prime location of downtown Montreal. Located very close to restaurants, shops, and a lot of great amenities. Montreal. Parking was around $35 per night, but more affordable options can be found on the neighbouring streets. The hotel has a nice pool, with a beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again.

An Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Montreal We recently stayed at this wonderful hotel in Montreal, and I cannot speak highly enough about my experience, the hotel's excellent location, which allowed me to explore the city. Situated in the heart of Montreal, it offered unparalleled convenience to major attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers. Staff and Services were great, outstanding staff and impeccable services. They were not only professional but also incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive to my needs. Their genuine friendliness and eagerness to assist created a truly satisfying and memorable experience, and willingness to go the extra mile made my stay exceptionally pleasant. The rooms were spacious, elegantly furnished, and impeccably clean. I especially appreciated the attention to cleanliness and the quality of the linens, which added to the overall luxurious experience

Had a late night, asked for a late checkout so we could enjoy a leisurely brunch in their Commodore Restaurant and use the pool/sauna before leaving as check-in is 3:00 pm, checkout is 12:00pm. As we booked brunch well in advance, and they still wouldn’t let us have a 1:00pm checkout. My suite I paid more for, they gave me a room with no table? The concierge told me it’s a dice roll on which one I get? I want the one I paid for in the picture, which was $70 more than the room I got per night with a better view. She just apologized, I assured her that it wasn’t her fault and she was nice. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in Montreal, I’ve stayed in at least 10 over the last 20 years. Also which is hilarious, our eggs Benedict showed up before we even received coffee! Bizarre... Her eggs Benedict came out cold, mine had a hair on it I mean this was almost felt like I was on candid camera. The cappuccinos arrived cold not even drinkable with the excuse that the machine doesn’t work fast? Sad. I’m usually not this critical, but I’ve had better stays in basic hotels like the Best Western, this place is supposed to be amazing…uh. We’re starving because we walked out on brunch but we’re going to swim now anyway and then they can come kick us out while we’re packing zero stars and may God have mercy on their soul.

Not only is the hotel one of the prettiest I have ever stayed at but it is also a very well designed hotel when it comes to its amenities. From the sauna, pool, bar, restaurant and staff, this is the kind of hotel that you just want to keep cpmomg back to. The staff is warm and friendly, the food in the restaurant is great and the bar is beautiful. The rooms are well designed and the bathrooms.are gorgeous. Better than hotels that I have stayed at that are double the prize. Excellent, excellent, excellent

The hotel is stunning and the interior design really is 5 star. We loved the pool and gym complex. Breakfast was hit and miss and needs to be improved. Overdone eggs/omelette shouldn’t happen in a 5 star establishment. It’s also very odd to add fresh fruit to the same place as an omelette or eggs Benedict - blueberries don’t work when covered in savory sauce. Better to serve the fruit as a side plate and sell it as a ‘free’ bonus for your meal. I only gave 3 stars for the service as we had an issue in the bar. My friend only drinks tea and had some English tea bags he brought with him. Most of the time we would offer to pay for a tea and ask for hot water and a pot of mild. 3/4 times this wasn’t an issue - we did offer to pay after all! Then one time in the bar a young lady server made a big deal out of it, saying because we sell tea we can’t let you add your own tea bag. I explained we were paying thousands of dollars to stay at the hotel and were happy to pay for their tea, but not use it, but she wouldn’t have it. It then became a big deal with staff arguing behind the scenes and other staff member saying it shouldn’t have been allowed (as it has been before). A totally ridiculous situation and one that better staff training would have not allowed to happen. I can understand if we walked in with a can of beer from a shop, but arguing over boiled water - just ridiculous in such an establishment. It left a bitter taste in the mouth tbh.

Stayed here for 2 nights in October 2023 as an Ambassador Elite. First off, the hotel is beautiful! It’s still quite new, kept in great shape, clean, and smells great. Loved the bed, linens and robes. Hotel is nicely decorated throughout and fits their theme. Location is very central and can walk to most places in 15-20 minutes. I did encounter a few issues however. First off, I arrived quite early (1230) for check-in and thought I’d see if my room was ready. It wasn’t, which was fine as I knew I was quite early. The front desk noted that they would prioritize getting my room ready and assured me they had a large corner room for me with great views. The room didn’t end up being ready until 430. The room itself was aesthetically pleasing, but I would not call it large and the view was average. The room isn’t super practical as there is nowhere to sit other than the bed if watching TV. This leads to my second issue, the TV. It did not work for entire duration of my stay. I notified the front desk and they sent someone up and noted there was an issue with the provider effecting some rooms and he would call them. The front desk didn’t really seem to care or offer any accommodation’s for this issue, they just passed it off as not their fault due to the provider. I would have liked to see them offer another room (apparently only certain rooms had issues) or atleast follow up with me to show they cared. Even upon check out, no one asked how my stay was or anything. As a bonvoy member (platinum and above) you have the option of bonus points or breakfast at the Commodore. Breakfast has 3 included options. I had the breakfast sandwich which was pretty good. As a business traveller, I don’t think I would stay here again as Montreal has so many better options, but I would probably come back with my wife due to the beauty of the hotel. I’m sure that with time, the customer service will improve as well.
