Loblaws City Market Ice District

I was duly impressed. Not bad from someone who has lived near there since 1980, not many of downtown buildings remain the same. But I liked the store. I am glad it is on the 2nd floor, seems a bit more relaxed. No traffic zooming by. And a really neat set up. Yes I got lost in there but amazing staff. From clerk's, to assistants at self check. To security. Fine job. Now don't mess it up! Lol!

Can't say enough good about this store! Living downtown, it's so nice having a grocery store close by. The store is clean, bright and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Always willing to help. I want to give the bakery a shout out...so accommodating, made me a special order birthday cake, decorated it so beautifully on Friday, Aug 4th. Thank you so much again!

Walked though the Pedways from Edmonton Tower, signage was good. I went to check out the store and maybe find some lunch, so I only perused the front area with the ready meals/deli and bakery. Lots of selection fair and clearly marked prices. I would agree with other reviews that the deli counter staff could UP their customer service skills, had to wait awhile before catching someone's attention to place my order.

Pricey and selection isn't great. The sandwichs they sell in the deli (behind the glass counter ) always have hard bread and not nearly enough on them to justify the price

I go here only if I really have too like on my way home from work. Prices are steep and good luck getting a employee who knows where something is except for the one kid who works there I forget his name but he's usually restocking groceries and was very polite and showed me where to find certain things a few times. That guy needs a raise ! Otherwise , everytime I go there using there self checkout is the most stressful time of the whole shop because the security gaurd will stand there and mean mug you as you scan items and the customer service staff guy who works middle of the day is a tad bit annoying pointing at every item like I'm going to forget to bag it or something lol? And trying to get me to purchase bags when I have one from home. Like I said. Go there only when you have too , and the 5lbs bag of onions I bought today were moldy. Gross.

So this is the new location in Ice District. I'm assuming that it will be connected to Stantec tower so that office workers don't have to go outside to get in. Apparently it's opening November 9th! Real Canadian liquor store is just below on the street level. Will post an actual review when store opens.

I went to the grand opening and did a little shopping while I was there. Very similar to the one in Brewery District, lots of tasty looking sandwiches and meals in the deli, and the bakery had a great variety of breads pastries and whatnot. Prices weren't too bad considering it's downtown. Definitely going to be one of my main grocery stores to shop at!

Staff was exceptionally polite and helpful! Product selection was surprisingly good considering the size of the store. If you are in ICE District and need some quick groceries, it's a good choice!
