Holiday Inn Toronto Airport East

My experience at this holiday inn was overall pretty good. Firstly, When my mom got to check in we got free waters because of her membership and that was really pleasant. Secondly, we got a knock on the door if we wanted house keeping and I thought that was so sweet. Thirdly, The bed was comfortable and same with the pillows. Second last, The Perkins right beside the hotel was pretty yummy as-well. Lastly. My only complaint is that the bathroom could be a little bigger. Other than that, me and my moms stay here was very good.

We arrived at 10pm with our 4 children under 8 years old. we unexpectedly needed a hotel room after travel delays. the receptionist said the room available had two queen beds, a couch and rollaway crib. when we got to the room, there was no couch, just a small chair. I asked the desk for blankets to make a sleeping spot on the floor for one of my kids, and they said they had no extra blankets available. I said I need another sleeping space for my child, and they knew that when we took the room. They stated the only thing they could do was offer us a second room at the same rate. I asked to speak with the manager and told him that we were given the room with the understanding that it would accommodate our family, and now we find that it won't, so please provide blankets at the very least. He told me that it was a mistake we were ever given the room, as having 6 people in it violates fire code. However, he would do me a favor and allow us to stay, However, no blankets are available. Or, we could rent a second room at the same rate of $219 per night. I do not understand how it's acceptable for them to misrepresent the room, tell us it's a fire code violation for us to be there, then insist we need to pay double what we expected in order to resolve the issue and have sleeping space for our family. Eventually, they relented and provided some thin blankets. The hotel was also outrageously loud, the AC sounds like heavy machinery and runs all night. And there are planes flying overhead every ten minutes or so. Oh, and we got a wake up call we didn't ask for at 5:30 am. There are lots of hotels in this area, I'd skip this one.
