10-01-2023 13:27Should really have read reviews before entering. Staff really ignores you (whether or not you speak Chinese, you are equally ignored 😒) We chose the Mapo Tofu and the French Beans since they were classics. The Mapo Tofu was just average, nothing special, and the Beans were a bit sweet, not that great. Feel like we paid more than what we got... Would not recommend.

08-05-2023 01:38Ordered the chicken porridge, beef in black bean sauce and the special fried rice. Food was okay, as expected from a dirty-chinese restaurant. Good long opening hours and fast service. Service on the other hand could use some manners and the place is not the cleanest (nicely put). Probably won't go here again. (Porridge looked pretty)

04-28-2023 14:39One of the handful of late night supper options available in Sydney, this place is a go to, whenever you don't feel like having the usual fast food. Recommend the congee and salt and pepper squid. The stir fried beef noodles were a bit too oily for me, but may help those who feel like sobering up. Service was as expected and quality of food was acceptable for the price you pay. So not bad!

04-27-2023 23:33We always talk about comfort food. This one might be the best of the best - congee. Eating congee always triggers some level of healing nostalgia for me. Congee is what my parents used to cook when my brothers and I were sick. When they themselves were growing up back in their home country, mum and dad used to eat congee everyday for breakfast. They weren't particularly wealthy growing up, so as a child I had thought congee was a poor man's food. But over time, you realise how good congee is as an aid to digestion, as a medium for hydration (because of the water absorbed in the rice grains), and to reduce inflammation. That's why congee was always whipped out when we were sick, and that's why plain rice congee is the breakfast of choice by many in eastern Asia! Super Bowl in Chinatown has for years been a go-to for congee outside of home! Morning, lunch, supper, you name it. They do plain congee, but there's many other types that you can try here including seafood, beef, kidney and liver, and pork blood jelly. My favourites though would be the century egg and lean pork, and the fish fillet congee (which we ordered this time). It comes with a deep fried dough stick 'youtiao' to dip with. My tip would be to not dip the whole thing in at once. Maybe just the tip. That way, you get a bit of the stick softened by the congee, soaking up the flavour, and the rest of the stick remaining crispy. Textural excellence. They have a nice sweet and sour pork as well - classic. They also do crispy pork intestines, though I do think you'll find better intestines elsewhere. Super Bowl's one of many Chinatown restaurants that leave you wondering about how long they're going to be around for. These are the institutions that keep you coming in every time you walk past, just because. And if there's one thing that will always be on my table here, it's the congee! 📍 Super Bowl Chinese Restaurant, Haymarket Chinatown

03-12-2023 17:23Very good casual restaurant. They can get very busy at night as they close quite late. Perfect for those after drink chinese food. The sweet and sour fish was great. Very crispy and saucy. The salted fish fried rice was great as well. The shredded beef tasted nice, but could use a bit more crispness. The roast pork was just so so. Would come back again for late night dinner.
