The Avenue Steak Tavern

Really good quality food in a nonpretentious setting with friendly service at a decent price. What more do you want? I've been a couple of times now and it's consistently good. Servings are plentiful, food is brought hot, tons of choices and you don't feel like you have been taken when the bill comes. Steaks are good and I personally really like the salmon too.

Absolutely loved our time here! It was my birthday and I loved my dinner! Everything was beautiful and wonderful from the service to the food!

Went there recently for the second time to celebrate an anniversary/birthday. The first time I was there it was a great experience but this second time around not so much. We had a reservation for 8 and it still took a bit past that to get seated. Our waitress was nice enough but seemed to not be very present. The drinks were good, the salads were amazing, but one of our appetizers came out burnt. You can kind of see it on the photo I have attached. We got the cheese fondue which they had charred one side completely and the cheese itself was crusted on the plate because of how burnt it was. The first time we came here my date and I both got steak, which I would recommend. This time we both got other entrees and we’re less impressed. The veal is extremely thin and underwhelming and the clam linguine was dry and over salted. I was also sent out wrong sides. Dinner took over two hours to get and by the time we left we were exhausted by the experience. For the amount we paid I was very disappointed in this experience and wish that our waitress was a bit more attentive to the issues we had. When we brought them up she was very passive aggressive with us, so we just dropped the complaints in order to leave quicker. If you do go, get the steak, and try not to make reservations too late at night. It seems the service declines past 8

I didn't know it was a Cameron Mitchell restaurant until I got a to-go bag for the big dessert I couldn't finish, everything was so good. The bathroom was immaculate, my waiter chaz was very helpful and attentive. The steak cut like butter, the tomato bacon soup was heavenly. They played a lot of oldies which is my vibe. Would definitely recommend going. I got the 6oz filet, asparagus, soup and dessert with a glass of wine for $74.

Great food and customer service. Definitely make reservations. Menu was simple and easy to read. Price decent. Bread was good. The chicken was absolutely delicious. So glad I decided to go for it. I even tried the 'Tavern Salad' and as a non salad person this salad was probably the best I've had. Everyone really enjoyed their meals at the table. The wine was good as well. My only qualm is that you have to pay for parking in the back and it's a bit awkward getting around. I will definitely be back to try other items in the menu.

Had Father's Day dinner here, and the experience was fantastic. Our Waiter was very attentive and accommodating, helping to get dishes to us in good time. The food was all incredible, particularly the crab cake and the Fried Green Beans. I didn't get anything super beefy which was my bad, and I will next time. The Scallops weren't the best I've had, but then I didn't make them, and my wifes skirt steak was almost gummy, not undercooked, but I'd get a different cut next time. The Mac u0026 cheese was incredible, the fries were spot on, the fondue appetizer was fantastic as well, very good combination of flavors and textures with everything. They have an excellent selection of bourbons/ryes, and quite a few Buffalo Trace products (Eagle Rare, Handy, Buffalo Trace, 2x EH Taylors and probably some others) very good selection in general. Will certainly be back!

An excellent date night spot for a special occasion! The food was excellent but I was even more surprised at the ambience-- better than I expected!

Outstanding ambiance and food with an eclectic variety of music. The French onion Soup is savory with lots of melted cheese. The wedge salad was fresh, crisp and can be ordered with blue cheese or thousand island dressing. The half Chicken was perfect. And the scallops were tender and full of flavor.
