Mark's prime steakhouse in my opinion is the number one fine dining restaurant in Gainesville Florida! I am absolutely shocked that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant. All the food is made from scratch and prepared perfectly and the front of house service is immaculate. If you are looking for the absolute best dining experience that you can have in Gainesville Florida I suggest that you make reservations at Mark's prime steakhouse and seafood downtown Gainesville FL!

My recent visit to Mark’s Steak House was nothing short of exceptional. The highlight of my meal was the 16oz Delmonico steak, a true testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs here. Cooked to absolute perfection, the steak was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a delightful experience, showcasing the quality of the meat and the skill in its preparation. Complementing the steak was a selection of red wine, which was thoughtfully curated to enhance the dining experience. The wine I chose had a robust flavor, which paired beautifully with the rich taste of the steak, creating a harmonious blend of flavors on the palate. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of the meal, making it not just a dinner, but a memorable dining experience. We had good service, although the entree took a long time to be served. The steak was asked for rare to medium rare. It was medium all though; the fish plate of the day had cold scollops, but the fish was good; the crab bische was very good, but the lobster escargot appetizer was terrible, over cooked, too chewy, the plate was not appetizing. We will not be back. Very expensive for not the best food.

I made reservations for my graduation for 5. If you have a large party over 4 people, you have to give them your credit card because if you don’t show up, they will charge you a fee for no-show. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and led to the table which was ready for our party. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is great. It’s a beautiful, classy, restaurant. Our waiter was okay and fast. Our food took a little long to come out, but that’s normal when you have busy events like graduation. We ordered 3 chicken dishes and two steak dishes. My steak was perfect and delicious, but the chicken dishes were way too salty. For a party of five, the check was $350 + tip. It is expensive but worth it for events such as grad. Make sure you make your reservation at least one month in advance. I highly recommend Mark’s Steakhouse for graduation.

Marks has always been good when I was at the restaurant. We ordered delivery. Not so good. The wedge was a gigantic hunk of iceberg lettuce with about 10 bacon bits and a few minuscule pieces of tomato. Would cost about $1 to make. The blue cheese dressing was watery and tasteless - I remember loving a thick blue cheese dressing at the restaurant. The burger looked delicious but when eating it - there must be some meat that is supposed to be ground up (brisket? steak?) but it wasn't, so huge dry chunks broke off that were hard to chew. Disappointing. Hope it's just delivery that is suboptimal

Our second visit and the food is always incredible. No complaints. However, our appetizers ran into a “snafoo” in the kitchen. The manager came out to inform us but didn’t offer anything to make up for the excessive delay. Other groups, whom were seated after us, received their appetizers well before us. The Bourbon menu was lacking…we tried ordering 3 different bourbons for my father’s retirement celebration and they were out of them. The drink menu should certainly be adjusted. Hands down the best food in town but definitely disappointed in the service this time around.

Venue: pretty large restaurant, tables and booths available. My party had a large private room in the back to ourselves. Service: we had two staff dedicated to our table, they were pretty accommodating and friendly. Didn't have any issues and felt like they managed the large table pretty well. Food: it was pretty good, delicious steak, but you're definitely paying for it. Drinks: they had a large selection, no complaints but don't think they had anything special.

Steak was good but I don't think my cut was up to Prime standard and was not cooked to requested temp. Atmosphere is good and service was very good. Sides were good. I might go again but I was hoping for much more.
