I was visiting family that came in from out of town and I was a little disappointed that the hotel looks so old and miskept on the inside for it being such a new hotel in the area. It was not horrible by any means however I was just surprised at how little upkeep is happening with this hotel. The location is a good location however the part of the road its on makes it a little complicating to get out of the parking lot because of the amount of traffic on the road. I would not discourage anyone from staying in the hotel however for the price they are charging, there are other hotels with better upkeep near by in the Lafayette area. I think La Quinta could do better by simply keeping up with the hotel a bit better and by being a little more friendly. I am huge on customer service, I believe it can make or break a business.

3 total issues but the #1 reason not to stay here is the stall smoke smell in the rooms. I had a 3rd floor then was switched to a 4th floor. Even though this is a 100% smoke free hotel now, you can tell at one time it wasn't and nothing been replaced since then. When unpacking once home I had to wash every bit of clothes I brought, even stuff that never left the suit case. Had my roommate smell a pair of shorts and he asks if I wore them to a smoking bar. 2nd was water pressure or the lack there of. 2 days there Fri-Sun and Friday night little to no water pressure, Saturday during the day was 0 water pressure. I couldn't fill a .5L water bottle in under a minute. Sat after midnight was the only time there was slightly enough water pressure for a shower. 3rd is the basic breakfast. Waffle maker, sausage links, thinnest bacon I've ever seen and that's it. No eggs, biscuits, etc. My recommendation is to stay at the Windgate about a mile away. Cheaper, recently renovated, much better breakfast, non of the issues I listed for La Quinta. The only thing was the staff, they were great but the hotel they work at is very lacking.

Very good location, restaurants around I stayed for a week. The room was very large, it had a clean king bed, it smelled good, the air conditioning didn't make any noise, although the pool was closed, but hey, it's not the hot season, you understand, the breakfast is the same as every day, very basic but delicious, the area was very clean. food only the very rude receptionist is a white woman I forgot her name it seems like she doesn't feel like working or she is racist towards Hispanic people that's why I loved my stay at this hotel

The front desk was very friendly. Room was clean. Beds seemed new. We only stayed one night but it was quiet and we were able to get a nights sleep. Breakfast was good. They offered good options for everyone.

I was purposely booked into a room with no running shower water. When I asked to use another room just to take a shower no one from the staff ever called me back. Went downstairs to ask the front desk, and was told no with a horrible attitude, saying this is not the hotel’s fault it’s the city, yet the hotel put me in a room on a floor with no running water. Asked to speak to the manager, and was given a card to email him. After multiple emails, no response. This hotel sucks. Never stay here unless you like the worst of the worst.

Let me start by stating the good… hotel itself was nice and clean. However… If you would like to take a trip back to the 18th century, then this is the hotel for you! The fun started when our ball team arrived at the hotel a little after 9 pm after playing a late ballgame on a relatively muddy field after it had rained all day the day before and some the day of the game. Most boys had dirty, muddy uniforms that needed to be washed before our 8 am game. Imagine our surprise when we go to the laundry facility and find a sign on the door that said the facilities are NOT to be used after 9 pm, and you will be asked to vacate if you defy their rules. You also can’t use it before 11 am… so it makes it especially hard when you have a late game and an early morning game. Our players with the dirtiest uniforms were forced to wash in sinks and dry in the microwave. This rule seems silly considering the laundry room isn’t near rooms, it’s tucked in by the elevators, so you wouldn’t be disturbing guests who may be sleeping nearby. The next round of fun came when I got up to our room and discovered that my son had left a couple of “gifts” in the toilet. I tried flushing his deposits, but they wouldn’t go down. My son and husband were already in bed, so I went to the front desk and asked if I could have a plunger because our toilet wasn’t flushing. He gave me one, but informed me that “the toilet is not for flushing toilet paper. That’s what the trash cans in the bathroom is for.” Imagine my surprise… as I have never stayed at a hotel where you couldn’t flush toilet paper. I was a bit taken aback and I asked him if there were signs in the guest bathrooms that inform guests of this little tidbit and he told me “no, there’s no signs”… I asked how they expected guests to know not to flush toilet paper if there are no signs stating such and he couldn’t really give an explanation for that. He also told me that the “hotels septic wasn’t built to handle toilet paper… and the last batch of toilet paper seemed especially bad”…?! What?? I’m sorry… I’m really the farthest thing from a “diva” when it comes to where I stay when out of town… as long as it is clean and comfortable, I’m happy. However, I refuse to allow my family to throw their stinking pee and poop paper in the trash can next to the toilet and then have to sit next to it and smell it. No, thank you! When I went back up to unclog the toilet and flushed it, it really seemed to have more to do with the suction of the toilet and not the paper. I kept the plunger and we continued to flush the tp just as we have done in every other hotel that I have ever stayed at in my 41 years on this planet. You also only receive 2 towels and wash clothes no matter if you have one bed or two…. Considering we were all ball “families”, most everyone in our group has 3+ people and all had to request more towels and wash clothes shortly after checkin. The man behind the counter acted like this was a bizarre request… even telling some of our crew that they had to bring their dirties down before they could hand over more. Ummm… we had just checked in, most did not yet have any dirties… One of our ball moms told him that she paid a good amount of money to stay for the night and expected enough clean towels in her room to cover everyone. Front desk man didn’t like that very much and got extremely rude with her and her husband. Bottom line… if you are in town for a ball tourney, I highly DO NOT recommend. Of course, Mr. Man behind the desk will not be bothered one bit if you choose to stay elsewhere because he apparently has a real chip on his shoulder when it comes to ball teams as I overheard him griping to his coworker about another guest who was not a part of our team but was in town with another team, he said he was cancelling her reservation because she had not checked in yet, or something to that effect, and he told the mom on our team who needed towels that he “always has problems when these ball teams are in town”. So, there you have it! Your money is not wanted, travel ball teams!

I would not recommenfstaying here! Pay top dollar for bottom dollar service. The front desk manager, Doug, is the absolutely most rude human I've ever met. He told us not to flush the toilet paper because it's not septic safe and we can't use the washing machine after 9 or you get kicked out. You cannot have more than 2 towels even at the price you pay. And as I walk away from the desk he says very loudly Jesus Christ! Then turns and says to a coworker It is always when we get ball teams! Also says Can we please just drop it, id hate to have to make you leave. Excuse me! These ball teams bring ALOT of business to these hotels but I will make sure no ball team I know stays here.
