First, for the good news ~ The breakfast was at least five star…the lady that ran the kitchen was professional, courteous and keep that area clean. The towels and washcloth was rough and dirty. When I ask for something more suitable…I was given a grey color washcloth that look like it had been used to clean the floor. I did not like the smell of the room. Was glad when we could moved to another hotel (LaQuinta) where they received a 5 stars from us. Because it was a holiday ~ there was no other place with a vacancy that we could moved to until the end of our trip. We will not be staying at another Holiday Inn Express if we can avoid them. One bad experience is enough for us…If we do ~ we will bring our own Towels, washcloth and air freshener spray.

The Holiday Inn has a good hot breakfast with eggs, meat, omelets, oatmeal, juices and a pancake maker. The gym is nice and includes free weights, mats, and cardio machines. The indoor pool is nice for year round swimming. However, the fairly new hotel has not been taken care of with lots of minor damage and that’s telling of the staff who just read off scripts, are unhelpful, and show a general apathy toward guests. You do not feel welcome. The housekeeping is great though! The location is also not friendly to foot traffic with only a donut shop and liquor store nearby. Pizza Patron is walkable, but the walk there is not covered by sidewalks the entire way.

Pros- the room was clean, the area was nice, staff was helpful. Cons- you can hear every single step the people in the floor above you take. Even people walking down the hall, getting off the elevator etc. we tried to take a nap during the day but the pounding was constant. I called the front desk, because I thought it may have just been the room above us, but it was clear before long that it was just going to be that kind of stay. If you stay here, take noise cancelling ear buds or plugs.
