Eastman Periodontics & Implants

Dr. Eastman and his team provide top-notch service, from the front office to the procedure room. It surprised me to see such a skilled periodontic surgeon spend so much time with his patients, patiently educating and explaining treatment options. I can attest to his expertise as my issues were very challenging and complicated with personal time restraints. I will be forever thankful for the successful results and Dr. Eastman’s exceptional knowledge and superb surgical skills.

I have had excellent teeth. However, due to one gum issue on the back right side I was sent to Eastman. They did deep cleaning on my entire mouth which loosened all of my gum tissue and was expensive as well. Then they wanted to use laser treatments to fix the tissue that they had loosened. In addition, there were many more added treatments that they thought I should have which added up to $8,000. They tried to tell me that I was in danger of losing teeth. I went to Dr. Rubino who treated the one area for $500 and did not suggest any further treatment. Years later my teeth are fine. Be careful at this office.

08/01/2023 UPDATE Two years since my original recommendation from Eastman that I have 4 teeth pulled and a total of nearly $15,000 work done just as a start. I still have all my teeth and am doing fine after SRP and quarterly periodontal maintenance cleanings. I am so glad that I got multiple other opinions before accepting the plan recommended by Eastman. I decided to go to LECOM Dental College as one of the other opinions. They have nothing to gain by lying to me or being unnecessarily aggressive with their treatment plans. They do refer to reputable outside professionals for things they can’t perform there. There are no charges for consultations and very reasonable for the work they do perform. Students do the work but everything including consultations are overseen by professionals with decades of experience. 11/18/2021 This is only my 3rd ever review—my second for Eastman. Dr Christie recommended 4 of my teeth be pulled and $14,000 worth of work. While this is one option 3 dentists and 2 periodontists at two different facilities have x-rayed and examined my mouth. ALL 5 of these medical professionals agreed that pulling my teeth is a far too aggressive approach for my age and overall health. They ALL also agreed that it would be prudent to begin my treatment with Scaling and Root Planing before recommending surgery. In addition Eastman did not even address the issue of my needing a night guard which can greatly reduce more damage to my teeth. What bothered me was Dr Christie and her staff were unwilling to discuss any alternative to pulling 4 of my teeth and surgery. I asked about possibly doing the SRP but there was no discussion. I realize Dr Christie has seen very progressive and damaging cases of periodontal disease and may have felt this aggressive treatment to be the best. However, 5 professionals disagreed and were only told of Dr Christie’s recommends after they gave their own. If you aren’t comfortable with a treatment plan get a second opinion before going forward. It may be deemed necessary to do gum surgery in the future—however I am happy that these other professionals see the benefits of listening to my concerns and trying less aggressive treatment that is recommended by the American Dental Association and other professional dental agencies as first steps. 9/18/2021 Everyone was friendly. The doctor explained things. However, if you want a practice willing to COOPERATE with other practices within your insurance network and your financial circumstances, you will not get that here. There is a set treatment plan and associated $1000s and $1000s worth of procedures. While this may be the MOST beneficial in reality many people due to no fault of their own require less expensive treatment—while not ideal or even what they may prefer can still offer a lot of benefit. Their attitude is “ALL OR NOTHING”.

I haven’t been to Doctor Eastm@n in years however when I called in for an appointment not only was I given an appointment within a couple of weeks, they still had my records from my previous appointments. Everyone was so pleasant and explained every procedure. Alicia, Dr Eastman’s assistant was wonderful in explaining every step she preformed. When Dr Eastman came into the examine room it was like I had I had just been there last month. He has previously worked on all of our family, myself, our two daughters and continually worked on my husband. He is so knowledgeable and so honest about your dental needs that you immediately feel comfortable and cared for. He is highly thought of by all members of my family and truly a caring and likable person. My visit turned out well and I felt reassured about my dental concerns and treatment. Thanks Dr. Eastman!

I just completed the first part of a complex periodontal surgery with Dr. Lindsay Eastman. I am pleased to say that given the amount of work he had to do, I had a wonderful experience. I was well prepared for the surgery, his office staff, was extremely helpful, and Dr. Eastman himself could not have been kinder and gentler with me. I was made comfortable throughout the surgery and I felt no pain. I was sent home with clear instructions on wound care, medications, and anything else I might conceivably need. Dr. Eastman called me himself later in the evening to check with me that all was well. Much to my surprise, I was also sent a surprise gift of a floral arrangement. I do not see how anyone could do things better than Dr. Eastman and his staff.

Dr. Eastman and team did a truly great job counseling me on the options for various types of implants, and subsequently placing those of my choice. Their office also worked really well with their recommended dentist that built my upper appliance. I have had no post operative issues or other concerns, just a very solid base for my new removable appliance. I would recommend this office and their doctors to anyone considering an implant solution.

I had a situation which required treatment ASAP. I was not an established patient and Dr. Eastman’s schedule was already full that day. He and his staff were kind enough to accommodate me. Even though they worked late because of me, they were all still unhurried, smiling, friendly and wonderful. Dr. Eastman’s expertise is extremely impressive. I have great confidence in his knowledge and abilities. An added plus is his warm and friendly personality. I felt as if I had known him for years. Even though I was nervous due to complicated dental surgery, his wonderful “bedside manner” soon put me at ease. The care I received from him and his staff was outstanding down to the last detail. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Eastman and his staff. I sincerely thank them for the care and treatment I received.
