Super 8 by Wyndham McAllen/Downtown/La Plaza Mall

We had a stay for only one day. The attendant at the front desk upgraded our room to a loft sized room with a king bed. It was really nice! The room was clean, comfy and quiet. I would stay there again.

The room was really musty smelling I had to open the door and window for a while. They claimed to have free breakfast and there was no breakfast, my husband said they had a muffin that didn't look very good. And no coffee because we had no cups and couldn't find any where the breakfast was supposed to be. It was a bit disappointing. And no I won't stay there again mostly because of the moldy/ musty smell, it was really overwhelming.

Very friendly and professional gentleman working in the evenings. Accomodated a courtesy late check out option for us. Very clean, decently updated room. Decent location that did not feel unsafe. The budget amenities met expectations. Would recommend and will stay again.

We booked based on reviews and no matter what people put here...perspective is reality. This isn't a fake review either nor did anyone or any other competitor pay me to write this. I don't typically review but this had to be said. My wife, daughter and I came to help her get set up in her apartment before starting back at college again. Checking reviews to make a decision are deceiving and worthless....so here we go, location bad, AC didn't keep humidity out of room, mattress was lopsided and uncomfortable (slept horrible), bathroom was still dirty, girl at front desk told my daughter....breakfast is light in a small area. I walked in the next morning looked to see for myself and it was just as described, got a cup of coffee and walked right out...ended up throwing out coffee as it was not good and we went to eat somewhere else. I decided we weren't going to stay another night as we had booked 2 nights. Called front desk to see what can be done and because of price we paid which was $109 with tax per night for a 2 queen room we could only get credit for leaving early. I asked guy at front desk how much is same room rate if we didn't get reduced rate...he said about $120 a night with no taxes. We stayed in a 2 queen room at Holiday Inn Express Pharr for $144 which included tax regardless with possibility of losing out on $109 was so worth it....clean, comfortable bed, more spacious, great breakfast and so on. It goes without saying...you get what you pay for. I got my credited night notice via email to use before 10/31/23 and that money is gone as I will never stay there again.

The moment I arrived to the hotel I went to the check in area where the wonderful staff did my check in easy and fast. I went to my room and went to bed right away. The bed was very comfortable and very clean. This hotel is perfect the Rooms are always nice in clean as well the hotel areas. I love this hotel because is very quiet and so many restaurant are around the area. . I feel safe and comfortable. The staff is very professional and always with a smile. Thank you all the staff here

Check in was easy, the room was ready and smelled great. The only thing we asked more for were wash clothes. And maybe a good mopping Other than that we had plenty of room in our suit. King bed and queen bed

I must say, we entered the place and WOW, it smelt wonderful. Fresh and clean, like flower floor wash clean not just sanitized clean. The place is spacious! It had room for us to be able to walk around, not feel cramped or cluttered. The shower was well lit and clean, water pressure was fantastic! Bed was not old or lumpy, quite firm yet soft comfortable clean linens. It had a very cozy, safely warm atmosphere to it, like peaceful. Man, it was pleasant. We also were able to have our pup with us. They have washer n dryer which if I needed I could've used them a perk persay. The outside walk ways were clean and spacious, no problem with any one there. Vending machines looked well and intact not beat up or anything. It was a very pleasant. The staff was down to earth and professional no doubt about. A very grateful thanks to the earlier in the wee hours attendant. He was really hospitable. I appreciate that lots. Thank you staff at Super 8 by Wyndham for great service and a beautiful hotel and most importantly Affordable!
