North Beaverton Pet Hospital

I took my 14yo Lab Stanley to this clinic to have his butt looked at after twice not being able to be seen at our regular vet, which is walk-in only unless a surgery has been scheduled. The vet here had horrible bed side manner. She said he needs a tooth pulled, and that his butt needed biopsied. I could see the prices coming up as the tech typed in what she was saying needed to be done ($1700-2200). I said, He's 14 and I'll have to think about all this. And I need to get to work. I'm going to get a second opinion at our usual vet. She told me,He is in pain. I can put him down if you don't want to have those things done. I'm here for him... Mind you, he gets Meloxicam, and Cosequin daily for pain management, and SAM-e and Milk Thistle for liver, joint, and brain health. Needles to say, I paid for the exam and took him first thing in the morning to our regular vet. Our regular vet said, why would you biopsy his butt, or pull a tooth? He's 14! And you manage his pain, he's not in pain. She gave us three prescriptions, and a cream for the lesions on his butt, and I'm pleased to say that the lesions I had found on his butt are gone, and he is happy and eating (has never not eaten). I bathed him yesterday, nine days after seeing our vet, and starting the meds from our vet (and still taking them). I felt like the vet we saw at North Beaverton Pet Clinic was trying to make big bucks off of us by pulling at heart strings. We know our dog. I was disgusted with the way she spoke to me, He's in pain, and if you don't want to have these things done, I'll put him down. Awful! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

We were on vacation on the Oregon Coast when our dog's back upper tooth started bleeding. Called everywhere on the coast and no one could see us. By way of another veterinarian, we were told about North Beaverton Pet Hospital. We called and they said the doctor could see us that day. During our visit, we found out that our dog had a severely infected tooth. The doctor put him on an antibiotic and gave him pain meds until we could return home. He was happy and comfortable for the remainder of the trip. We are so thankful for North Beaverton Pet Hospital and their caring and compassionate care.

I called on a Friday to request a same-day appointment for my cat, who was a new patient there (we are established with another vet whose schedule was full that day). For such short notice, the NBPH staff were so courteous and helpful to accommodate us, and I really appreciated the quality of customer service and care we received. They are transparent with what types of treatment is recommended and pricing (which is very reasonable), and made sure that we were able to go home with understanding of her condition and necessary resources to continue her care. Dr. Caldwell was lovely and patient, and I have nothing but good things to say about her staff. I would bring my cats here again.
