11-10-2023 19:04I really can't say enough great things about this veterinary clinic! This is the second vet we've taken our box turtle to, trying to resolve some plastron fungus, and I am kicking myself for not making this the first place we went to. The first place we had gone (avian and exotic vet clinic), and wasted a year of time with, really did nothing of value for our turtle. But back to Scales u0026 Tails: From the second we got here, it was just apparent that we were in good hands. The tech spent 40+ minutes taking down all the relevant information about my animal, and his habitat, and then took my animal into their care for the next 7 hours, doing a very thorough exam, and coming up with a plan that I'm hoping is going to actually make a difference. They made sure that we knew how to do the things they prescribed for our turtle, and scheduled us another appointment for 3 weeks at a discount to check up on the progress. I'm just relieved that this vet is nothing like the last vet. This place is the real deal, and worth the drive out to Beaverton.

10-07-2023 20:48I'll try my best to summarize.... Speki ❤️, my bearded dragon, was very ill, Scales and tails did everything they could to save her, but it turned out she was already far too sick... They understood and cared about how my heart felt when I made the decision to euthanize Speki. The kind hearted people at scales and tails took such good care of my beautiful princess....and of me! The doc took the time to explain everything but Mostly, she helped me stop blaming myself for all of it, with logic and compassion.. ❤️

09-15-2023 15:20I would give Scales u0026 Tails 10 stars if I could. The whole team is lovely and amazingly helpful. I trust them completely with my bunnies. I don't think my boy rabbit (Felix, pictured) would be here today without their help. I wish they could be open 24/7 so I never need to go elsewhere! Haha. I highly recommend this vet for any of your exotic pets. Thanks, Scales u0026 Tails!

07-12-2023 03:15The staff is amazing, intelligent, and caring. Dr. Surrency seems unmatched in her field. I cannot imagine a better healthcare partner for my three guinea pigs. We receive highly individualized attention and expertise for unique, and sometimes even rare circumstances. We have followed this vet from several prior practices, with nothing but good things to say. I am so happy they have been able to branch out to their own practice, and it's wonderful that we are lucky enough to be able to continue our healthcare relationship all these years. We have been through a lot with them, and they feel at this point like an extension of our family. They may love our guinea pigs almost as much as we do! ;)

04-12-2023 22:52My bearded dragon was at the end of his days with cancer and Scales u0026 Tails was so kind, helpful, and gave me hope. Unfortunately he passed away but I feel like their advice helped him make his final couple months comfortable. I really felt like the staff cared and the vet is very knowledgeable. If I get another reptile, they will for sure be my main vet.

04-06-2023 00:54Leaving reviews generally doesn’t even occur to me, but as I’m reading a new chicken book, I really feel like I should say something. I would NOT bring a chicken here. I tried to treat my chicken’s prolapsed vent at home without success before finding a vet that treats chickens. It was during Covid, so I dropped her off and the vet called a while later to say they could perform surgery for $800. I told her I just couldn’t afford that. The vet actually talked me into it. I was more easily swayed, as my my elderly dog and cat with kidney failure had both died two months prior. I picked my girl up later that day and they had to train me how to care for her (it was quite a process). They told me they put a hormone ring in her to prevent her from egg production for a few months. Makes sense of course. Then told me that the surgery doesn’t always prevent the prolapse from happening again, so people bring their chickens in every three months to have the ring replaced for the rest of their lives! This was definitely not part of the vet’s sales pitch. My chicken died after 4 days.

03-18-2023 21:11I have been taking my pet rats here for the last two years and they have always provided the best treatment. My girls are older and are frequently visiting Dr. Surrency nowadays and they always take their time during the intake to ensure they are checking all the environmental factors that could be affecting their health. Yes, it is difficult to get a live person on the phone because their appointments are limited, but I always leave a detailed message and I always get a call back to schedule an appointment. They only have drop-off appointments rights now, so you do have to be comfortable with leaving your pets in their care. I have not had any concerns with this and my girls are always happy after visiting Scales u0026 Tails. Dr. Surrency always calls to discuss her findings, recommend treatment, and answer questions. Her recommendations are never pushy and always thoroughly explained. If you have pet rats, I 100% recommend Scales u0026 Tails.
