Sylvan Learning of Henderson

My Granddaughter recently took a Sat Prep Course from Sylvan Learning Center/Green Valley, Henderson, NV. She had a very positive experience there. The instructors were were both knowledgeable and helpful. Tina Howard, Director, runs a very well organized and efficient learning center. Nicole Murphy is a very capable Director of Education. The Sat Prep material was the latest edition of the course book. My granddaughter will take her Sat exam next week. She is much more self-confident about taking the exam and hopes to improve her previous score. (Stay tuned)!

Having a14 year old boy who is reluctant to having any type of extra sessions for school to make him better, is a rough go. The negotiation tactics easily hover over bribery, let's try it for 3 months, and everything in between. With the Covid quarantine, I have seen the mental stamina- in not just him but his cousins and friends, diminish slowly. I understood this and had to understand that I needed the help to get him better at writing because I was losing my patience - which is not good for us or our relationship as parent and child. After several verbal battles, even after the first few sessions, he complied. After the first 4 sessions, he started to make some impressive gains on organizing his thoughts before and during the time he was writing any assignment for any course. It was and still is impressive. The quality that Sylvan has provided from the assessment of what he needed, the one-on-one attention that he receives, and the strides that he has now made with this being his third month, has been nothing short of amazing. What used to take him hours to do has dropped to more than half. The QA/QC that I provide after he completes a writing assignment, has been much smoother and with less to correct. He now sees the benefit and looks forward to the sessions more than he dreading it. I am very pleased with the results and look forward to seeing his growth and improvement all due to going here. I highly recommend Sylvan Learning for any child whom is struggling in school!

The staff was really friendly! My son needed help with his math grades, he came here a couple of times and his grades are better now!

Sylvan has been amazing in helping my son get to grade-level reading and also boost his reading confidence! The staff at the Henderson office is also great and friendly!

My son and daughter love learning here. Both have dyslexia and need the extra attention. We were really beating our heads against a wall before we discovered Sylvan. The staff were so good at getting to know my kids and setting up a personalized learning plan which is different for each. The tutors are always timely, kind, enthusiastic and attentive. My children look forward to going to their appointments and leave feeling confident in their abilities.

Great place , staff is friendly and knowledgable. They offer tutoring in all acedemic courses. My son learned alot about putting together his writing paper, he left with more confidence and understanding

Be aware of the director up charging parents. She sends in the financial requests to comenity bank and the process isn’t transparent. I’m very displeased with what feels like shady-ness…I did not use 5k worth of tutoring. Probably $600 worth but this institute has not contacted me back nor have they paid the unused amount back to the bank. Will file court proceedings. Update: It was not pleasant to get a refund. I requested 2 months ago that my account be closed and whatever loan that was taken out under my name be paid back. In their contracts Tuition Solution has 10 business days to pay back the refund. I have been harassed by creditors, the comenity bank and have several “late” fees because I refused to send anymore payment since I requested a refund. We stopped receiving tutoring services back in May which was when I paid my last payment. My credit score dropped by 65 points. I documented all emails and recorded all phone calls pertaining to the issues. On my account it still says I owe over $400 in interest and late fees. I was severely injured financially by Sylvan, Tuition Solution and Comenity Bank. I wish I would have known how terrible that service is and just paid out of pocket for tutoring that way if I didn’t use certain hours I didn’t have to worry about it. I can’t refinance my student loans or buy a house this year because of them. I am planning to take my complaint to small claims court to get this reversed. Good luck to anyone else dealing with this.

I can't Express, how greatful I am, for having had my son attent this leaning center. After 50 classes of math, my child finally regained his joy for math. I highly recommend this place
