Early Childhood Development Center

We used this preschool program for all three of our children. ECDC provides the highest quality of child care. Their teachers are incredible; but moreover, the involvement of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's students makes this program even more vibrant. If you are looking for day care, child care, or a progressive kindergarten program, this is the best option in greater South Bend.

My older one went to ECDC from preschool to kindergarten, and my younger one is currently in preschool at ECDC. They also go to the Summer camps at ECDC. Both my kids LOVE ECDC! They have a wonderful program, so kids can learn things everyday. Besides that, they have incredible teachers and staff! ECDC is the best daycare/preschool in South Bend area, and I highly recommend it!

I am grateful for the high quality preschool experience that ECDC-SMC provided for my daughter. The teachers were knowledgeable and caring, creating an outstanding learning environment and preschool curriculum. My daughter also enjoyed the summer program at ECDC, which includes many creative and recreational enrichment activities. If you are looking for a high quality childcare or preschool program, I would highly recommend ECDC!

ECDC is an early childhood education paradise. The teachers are fantastic, the environment is warm and welcoming, and the curriculum is play-based while still preparing children for kindergarten and exposing them to a variety of experiences. I love that they also strive to teach children interpersonal problem-solving skills and the importance of kindness to others. My son absolutely loves going to school, and has grown so much during his time at ECDC so far. We couldn’t be happier with the care and education he is getting.

I had two children go through ECDC from 2013-2015. From the beginning I was impressed with this program because of the director, teachers, and support provided both for students in the classroom and parents outside of school through discussions, and alternative activities. Letting kids learn through active play and exploration is such a gift that I wish all kids had the opportunity to experience. ECDC-ND is a wonderful program and I highly recommend it.

My son adores his teachers at ECDC and so do my husband and I. ECDC classrooms are full of creative activities that teach the children to see excitement and depth in the world around them and to take delight in one another. The families, children, staff, and administrators at ECDC form a close-knit and supportive community that has helped our son to thrive and grow.

As our son was transitioning from daycare to preschool, we wanted to find the perfect preschool for him. We couldn’t have made a better choice than the Early Childhood Development Center. ECDC exceeds all expectations when it comes to staff members, parent involvement, and the curriculum within each classroom. We look forward to our son continuing with a great preschool program until he is off to kindergarten.

My oldest two children attended ECDC for both their school year preschool program, as well as their amazing summer camp program. ECDC is more than your typical daycare facility. The teachers and staff are highly educated in early childhood education and they provide an environment to help children thrive. I love that ECDC puts an emphasis on social development, and learning teamwork and respect. In my opinion, this is the best preschool in the area. I cannot wait until my youngest can begin!!
