09-04-2023 15:00We were served by Shehzad and Varun. Service was excellent and welcoming and they were always available to help despite the rush. Shoutout to Varun who gave us 5 star service and was very respectful and offered excellent customer care throughout. Food was delicious. Only downside was rowdy drunk customers causing arguments and ruining the atmosphere.

08-23-2023 06:26This is a very popular Indian restaurant and deservedly so. Food is superb, and you are asked if you would like it mild, medium or hot. The family size naan are huge but still light and fluffy. Parking can get tight on an evening so please book and preferably arrive early as some parking is shared with other restaurants.

03-20-2023 18:13My favourite Indian restaurant, the perfect place for a curry! We’ve had many family celebrations here over the years and absolutely love the food! Highly recommended for everyone, if you like your food a little more authentic or spicy, order from the Desi Menu on the back!

03-17-2023 03:43Have to mention it at the beginning that I'm not a big fan of Indian food, so my comments could be very biased. It was a group dinner for me, I didn't vote for the venue. Akbar is a famous Indian restaurant that can be found in many cities across the UK. After walking in, the internal environment looked gorgeous and beautiful. The service was really nice and kind. But for me, the core of a restaurant is always about the food. Unfortunately, Akbar was a huge disappointment in that part. Firstly I got a Starter Platter, the chops and the chicken wings looked delicious. After some quick bites, I suddenly felt nervous. I could taste something like charcoal, the outer part of both the chops and the chicken wings was burnt. Apart from that, the chops were too spicy and too salty for me. Not a very nice start, next mains. All of the Indian mains looked the same before I actually asked to know that there were 4 different dishes! They might be very authentic, but I'm sorry they didn't move me at all. Wait, I might be partially wrong. Because my stomach was moved actually, in an unpleasant way an hour after finishing my dinner! Well I heard that it was pretty common for people that were unused to Indian food, so not a big issue. The Mango Cheesecake served at the end was good, well not an Indian dessert anyway. Overall the food quality was below par, I gave 3 stars because of the environment and the service. As a side note, the takeaway bags they gave us were leaky. That caused some coloured juicy liquid of those authentic Indian dishes to come out, definitely something I really wanted to forget as quickly as possible. Will I come back If I have my right to vote for the next venue? Probably not.
