Food and service was amazing (apart from a slight mix up where an alcoholic drink was served to someone not drinking) Food was stunning, some courses were difficult to eat due to the cutlery and crockery combination feeling like you left a lot of the dish behind but the food was tasty and a good variation 9f spice and flavour. The restaurant was quite noisy, it was sometimes difficult to hear the explanations of the dish when served, but had a nice clean layout with good decor. Would, maybe, eat here again.

Stunning menu. Without a doubt, one of Birmingham's hidden gems. We went for my partner's birthday and it was a worthy celebration. Initially, we had planned to go for the 5 course lunch menu... that soon turned into the tasting menu (because why the hell not?). This restaurant hides right in plain sight in the Jewellery Quarter. The contrast between a busy Birmingham street and the gorgeous interior can't be overstated. We were guided into a tastefully decorated modern lounge and offered the cocktail menu for aperitifs. I had an oolong iced tea cocktail with coconut and cacao nibs, a delightfully complex play on the palette. We were promptly offered some comforting snacks—they were rich and earthy and set up our stomachs nicely. After about 30 minutes, we were led into the main dining hall. The vibe was very different, bustling with an open kitchen and waiting staff rushing around. My only qualm with the experience was that the dining hall was so open plan with tables in close quarters, so you inevitably get involved with the neighbours on the table next to you. Not a problem if your neighbours are lovely (which they were) but not always conducive to the most intimate experience. That said, the chefs and waiting staff who presented the food and drinks were incredibly attentive and it was enjoyable to hear the people next to us having the same reactions to the food. The menu didn't pull any punches—every course was delicious. Sometimes fun and a little messy, sometimes delicate and pretty. Always very colourful. After the meal was done, we were marched back to the lounge to have after dinner drinks and some sweets. We were relieved to take some of the sweets home since we were so full!

Absolutely exceptional... there's no other word for it. A beautiful restaurant with fantastic staff who provided brilliant service throughout. The sommelier was wonderful; friendly, funny and charming. Spoke to us about his favourite wines and even let us taste a couple of extras. We had the summer menu with wine flight. The pre-meal snacks were excellent, super tasty and it made you sad there was only really one bite of them because they were so good. Lovely cocktails too. Only negative was nobody topped up our water and we were in the lounge for 45 mins with a tiny glass each. The meal was superb, some amazing flavours and ideas presented by enthusiastic chefs. The paired wines were all excellent and well explained too especially as I'm not particularly wine intelligent so it was great to learn as we went along. Only dish that disappointed was the chicken korma - this was a bit dull compared to the others and the turnip seemed pointless as it was just a turnip with no other flavours or spices. The staff also remembered it was my birthday and presented me with a handwritten card which was a lovely touch. Finished with sweets in the lounge but could barely finish them as we were so full! In total spent around 4 hours there. Bill came to £578 for two people. Fantastic evening and my second best ever meal (after the illustrious L'Enclume in Cumbria). Well done

One of the best experiences we've ever had. From the moment we sat down to moment we left it was truly special. The staff were unreal, extremely friendly and their service was exceptional. They all worked in synchronisation. We had the vegetarian tasting menu and the food was great, so tasty and extremely well presented. The wine pairing is a must, it has genuinely been well thought out. Shout out to Alice who smashed it from the get go, really looked after us from start to the end. Well done team we'll definitely be back and with more people.

We had the 10 course lunch time tasting menu with paired wines and it was a truly memorable experience. You can really tell the effort that's put into the whole thing: it was like a well oiled machine from the entrance to the bar area to the restaurant and back. The kitchen is open so you can see some of the food being prepared and are served directly by the chefs. Overall the atmosphere was so positive, it felt like people were happy to be there. The food was so, so good, and the flavours and spices very much on point. There were a lot of desserts, more than I've usually seen on tasting menus which I appreciated but might be a bit much for some. The Granny Smith samosa was the best! The only thing I'd improve is to get coffee cups with handles: I ordered an americano to go with my desserts but I struggled to drink it because the cup was too hot to hold.

Everything about opheem is exactly what you would want from a michelin starred restaurant. From the staff knowing your dietary requirements from your name on arrival to the quality of food and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is such a comfortable place to be and we could have stayed in the bar/lounge all evening. All of the staff were warm and friendly without being at all pretentious or overbearing. Lovely to have conversation with the staff and see how passionate they are and how they clearly love what they do. We will most definitely be back.

I was treated to dinner at Opheem by my wife for my birthday. When we arrived we ummed and ah'ed over whether we should go with the a la carte, the smaller tasting menu or just throw caution to the wind and go for the 10 course tasting menu. Originally I believe it has been booked as an a la carte service, however, the staff were all very lovely and encouraging when we decided to go for it and do the 10 course menu and by golly we were so happy that we did. This is simply sensational modern Indian cooking. 95% utter slam dunks with a few curios but overall for the price this is utterly worth it. Special praise reserved for the lovely staff, the incredible snacks and pre-dessert. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the Aloo Tuk course, this dish is a celebration of potatoes and is rightly famous, such complexity of flavours and moreishness from a humble potato who would have thought! All the food is halal as well, if you only eat halal food you owe it to yourself to come here at least once in your life!! This is very competitively priced compared to other Michelin starred restaurants, and you simply have to try the 10 course menu if you come. We're coming back in November for another family celebration and cannot wait.

I had the pleasure of celebrating my sister's 30th birthday at Opheem in Birmingham, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The private room added a special touch to the occasion, and the food was nothing short of incredible. Each course was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavor and creativity. The service was both friendly and exceptionally attentive, making us feel like valued guests throughout the evening. Opheem is a Michelin-starred gem that exceeded our expectations and made my sister's milestone birthday unforgettable. Highly recommend!
