10-24-2023 09:14Overall rating 3.5. So, this is very much a budget hotel. Nothing fancy, run down, a bit tired in the furniture and fixture department but provides the basic essentials for what you need. If you have the money, I would suggest either Premier Inn or Travellodge. Another budget friendly hotel that is ever so slightly upscale is the Easy Hotel, however a previous stay there proved that the club music from next door until 1am was too much for myself. You do at least get a window with the Comfort Inn, which is a blessing. The bathroom was very clean and the shower a joy. This hotel is for you if you're staying just for a night or two and don't want to be trapsing far from the station. This hotel will suit your needs just fine. You are very close to all the necessities that you need, along with having a plethora of restaurants to choose from from the local surroundings and very close to the LGBT and China Town area, along with a 5 minute walk to the Hippodrome if you're in town for a show. The Bullring shopping centre is also at most 5 minutes away. The room was, for the most part, very quiet (mine was located on the fourth floor), and you don't hear much/any traffic/train noise. It is also rather unusual, but the room always finds a way to get very hot and stuffy without the heating being on and with the one window wide open. In summer, this room would be unbearable - perhaps it is why one of the window panes was broken and repaired with masking tape? The bathroom window also did not open. There was only one incident that took place and that was the use of the provided hairdryer which unfortunately, and rather explosively, tripped the fuse in the room twice (once on first use, the second was the receptionist testing the unit). A replacement unit was provided the following day. This hotel will neither wow you nor break the bank, but it is comfortable and convenient for travellers wishing to spend a short amount of time in Birmingham.

09-23-2023 14:38The hotel is old and tired but quirky and cute. It's a good location and the staff are lovely. The water pressure in my bathroom was awful, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. The bed was the worst bed I've ever slept on, and I've stayed in rentals, campsites, and slept in cars at gigs. Sitting on the bed was jarring as the mattress went flat and hit the base board. Sleeping was impossible. Very hot room. But I opened the window and was fine. The room was ok apart from all that and still better than some chain hotels. I would stay here again, but not in that room. The bar didn't seem to be open, and I went elsewhere for food. Disabled access is bad, and the lift is too small for wheelchairs.

06-14-2023 07:09The location is perfect, however the hotel itself is in desperate need of an update. The lift is something you would find in a museum lol. The single room is clean but furniture from 1920's and there is no air con, oh well free sauna whilst trying to sleep. If you just need a place to store your stuff and a bed to sleep then it will do for the reasonable cost. I might check out their superior room 🤣🤣

06-01-2023 16:37Great convenient location. Basic rooms. Noisy. They advertise reduced rate parking on the website. We provided our vehicle details at reception as requested. At the car park we were charged full price for 24 hours. We called the hotel who told us to go to the office in the car park. We did, pressed the bell several times. No one there. We have since emailed the hotel to resolve the issue. Our emails have so far been ignored. Very disappointing.

05-22-2023 00:35Service at hotel was very good and the guy tried his best. However much consideration needs to be taken for the rooms in the future. After only being in the space for an hour myself and my significant other was already starting to develop a tight chest and congestion from the mold in the place. The ceiling in the bathroom is tiles, making it so moisture can collect in them and create mold. Very glad we left and did not spend the night or else I believe we would’ve gotten sick.
