10-09-2023 17:55A third-party insurance arranged a car rental for me at this location, specifying a preference for an SUV, ideally electric. I received a call from this branch before the booking, inquiring about when I'd collect the car. I informed them I'd do so after my car was picked up for repairs. On the collection day, shortly after my car was taken for repairs, the branch informed me that the car wasn't available and I'd need to get it the next day!! To my surprise, the car booked was manual, an oversight by the insurance. When I contacted the insurance to correct this, Enterprise claimed they hadn't been updated the next day. Only after another call with the insurance company, where they called Enterprise with me on the line, was I told to pick up the car the following day. When I called to arrange a pickup, they gave me a window from 11am-5pm for them to get me. However, if I wanted the car, I was given a strict timeframe, or I'd risk losing the rental!!! Upon arrival, the car provided was an Audi A4, not an SUV. The branch blamed the insurance, but I had an email from Enterprise specifying an SUV. The Audi's brake light warning was on, which the staff dismissed as a manufacturer's defect. The car also reeked of cigarette smoke. After a few days, other issues arose, so I returned the car and requested an SUV. They eventually gave me an older Outlander, despite having a Volvo X5, which the insurance claimed was reserved for me. Throughout this ordeal, I lost approximately £400 due to the time spent communicating and two days without a car. When I returned the vehicle, I discussed my concerns with the staff. They promised to file a complaint, offered a 30% future discount, and asked me not to review them, implying it'd interfere with the complaint. I felt this was another deception, and I haven't received anything regarding the complaint after more than a month. I'll never rent from this branch again. The service was horrendous, the staff were dishonest, and their vehicles, with their constant warning lights, felt unsafe. It's concerning that there's no oversight of their vehicles' safety.
