07-15-2023 23:03I have previously managed bleaching and highlighting of my own hair but had gone OTT and my hair was very damaged so I had cut it at home. I thought I would treat myself and leave it to the professionals. I opted for the super deluxe full head highlights. However, I went in with blonde hair and left considerably darker. Not happy at all with the colour and really not what you expect from a proffessional colourist. I did go back for corrective highlighting but when my hair was toned again, I was left with an uneven tone. Grey ashy ends and dark brown roots, to the point the highlights was not distinguishable. As soon as i seen my hair being blow dried, I knew there was no way this colour is staying. As soon as i got home i started stripping the ash tones out with good old fairy liquid and then did a formaldehyde free keratin treatment.. as i know this is the only way to get that hideous ash tone out and bring my hair up a few shades. I have managed to get myself back to blonde but it will take a few more washes for the colour to settle. I am happy with the full head of highlights as it is something I haven't been able to do across my own head. I am also happy with the cut but the shade I walked out with was awful. I stated i do not want any ashy tones as it looks ageing and it does not suit my complexion. Sadly, that is exactly how I left. I upload pictures of my hair colour before i went in to the salon, after the first toning, second toning and the colour i have managed to obtain now at home through stripping out the ash. I am not a professional but i think what went wrong was putting the toner all over my hair. When it should have been on the roots and newly bleached hair as my ends are too porous and absorbed all the grey toner. I know this from managing my own hair and when i bleach my own hair at home, i do use a silver hair colour on the roots and i get a lovely blonde. In all honesty i am glad the salon struggled with toning my hair as it makes up for all the hours i have spent at home on the same problem haha. My hair is notoriously brassy!! Needless to say having spent £125 i expect more for my money in the sense the brief i gave.. no ashy tones should have been adhered too. The service i received was excellent and i would recommend the salon to others.

06-10-2023 12:40I had such a great experience here. Demi did an amazing job and was attentive throughout. She clearly has a lot of experience and knowledge. She was very honest and realistic from the beginning and tried to achieve the balayage, which she did. I would definitely recommend and I'll be back for a top up. Thanks all.

05-29-2023 11:11I do like this hairdressers. I have always liked my hair cuts from here and i like the stylists who have cut my hair. My bad experience would be when i decided to ask for my hair to be coloured. I won’t say which stylist because i personally feel it happened due to lack of experience with my type of hair rather than neglect but then again i am no professional to really say. I have black virgin hair. I wanted a peekaboo blonde with a money peice framing my face. It turned out slightly different than i wanted, i.e the tone of the blonde, i wanted ashy darker blonde and ended up with something very yellow and money peice was thicker than i imagined but i still left feeling pretty and happy with it initially. I paid approx £160. I noticed that when i washed my hair for the first time, it was like the toner all washed out. This has never happened to me before and i could see a lot of patchyness through out and ginger roots. I reached out and stylist offered to retone it however i didn’t take up on it i had lost my confidence in the style and the salon and decided to go somewhere else to have it colour corrected and turned into a balayage. If you have black hair and wanting to go light i would probably go somewhere else. Ive included the first day pic and the pics after the first wash they will speak for themselves

05-23-2023 15:11I had to change my review from 7 years ago, it went from a 5 star review to 1. The Staff who were previously there were completely different and competent, the new staff doesn't know what they are doing. I wasted 3 to 4 hours there to get my deposit, which I paid on the tablet machine, instead of just returning money into the card, they said I needed to come in and I explained I live far and that I paid on card, when I went in person, the lady who's always at the reception said they could have done it via phone, so pissed and never will come back again. She's the same one that said to come in person, I hate when people don't know how to do their job properly.

04-13-2023 11:02Never normally post reviews but honestly the whole team at pickles were fab. After a botched cut at a different salon Hannah did an amazing job at making my hair look presentable while also being realistic about the style and I now feel alot more confident and will definitely rebook
