Staff were lovely. However the male owner is arrogant and extremely rude. He needs to sort out his attitude. Feel sorry for his wife

I had my haircut earlier today and booked in for a trim. When I got there I was told they couldn’t cut my hair unless I had my hair washed, cut and blow dry. I assume the woman who came over to tell me this was a manager as someone else cut my hair. I was the only person in shop at the time with the three employees. The whole experience made me feel really intimidated so I agreed. Although I’ve been going to that hairdressers for 3 years, I’ve never been told they have to wash my hair before. I booked a £19 but after being told they would cut my hair unless I got it washed I’m now £36 down. The man who cut my hair was really nice and you could tell he really wanted to do a good job. Although this isn’t the hair cut I wanted and is cut wonky. I think this is down to the fact that he didn’t position my head or even ask how I usually have my parting. I wish I’d read the reviews before because clearly I’m not the only person who’s experienced this. Also annoying that I’m going to have to go to another hair dresser to fix my hair and find somewhere new to go.

First time going to replay. Despite my mother having a bad experience, I decided to try it. I don't know her name but the hairdresser looks in her late 40s and she has highlights at the front of her hair. When I arrived, I immediately felt that she was trying to rope me into getting my hair washed (which would obviously cost more). She claimed that if she needed to cut off more than 2 inches of hair, then it would need to washed and blow dryed despite in my 30 years of getting my hair cut more than 2 inches, water and a spray bottle has sufficed and I have never had a bad haircut from not washing my hair first. So it feels very obvious that this is a money making tactic. I can understand that due to covid, hairdressers need to make money but we're also in a cost of living crisis and we can do without paying for things which aren't necessary. So despite this I sat down and I told her, pointing with my finger, exactly how much I wanted off. She cut my hair but when she asked me if it was ok, I said that I had asked for it to be shorter than that. She got very irritated and asked me to show her again, so I did. She hardly gave me a chance to re show her how short I wanted it before she snapped again. She was very impatient. She then said that if I was not happy with the way she does it again, then I'd have to make a new appointment because she can't keep giving me new haircuts, even though all I wanted was for my hair to be cut the way I had asked for in the beginning. After this point, I felt very uncomfortable. I just wanted to get up and leave but I stayed and I took comfort in knowing that I will try a different salon next time. My hair was then done the way I wanted it and I was happy with my haircut but it wasn't worth the experience that I had. Before leaving, she tried an additional 2 times to rope me into making appointments next time to have my hair washed. My mother also had a bad experience a separate time but with the same hairdresser. Again, my mum had said she wanted a section of her hair shorter, the hairdresser said it was better long. My mother felt uncomfortable because the hairdresser was arguing with my mothers wishes so my mother just accepted having that part long. My mother left and was unsatisfied with her hair. I won't be going here again, my mother and I will try somewhere else next time Update: To owner: I saw your response but I'm not sure how to reply directly. I have to respectfully disagree with you there. You say that the hairstylist may say about washing the hair if it is necessary for a cut that is more than 2 inches but there is no necessity to wash the hair. A dry cut can be done perfectly well by just spraying the hair with water. I have 30 years of experience having dry cuts done this way where I've gone from considerable hair length to a bob and I have never had any complaints. It didn't need to be done then, it doesn't need to be done now. I'd rather try every hair salon in swansea to cardiff before I agree to pay extra for my hair to be washed when I know it just isn't necessary. It is true that the stylist doesn't force people to have their hair washed but it is implied that next time, they won't do it without washing it (which means of course we'll have to pay extra for that).

Regular customer here. Great value for money. And always try to squeeze me in last minutes booking which im very grateful for. Excelled on Customer service! Thank you Went again today absolutely fantastic I would highly recommend Rex cutting hair. It’s the best hair cut I have had in 7 years since moving to Swansea. Colour brilliant thank you Mona! U have been fantastic with customer care n hair and the other young lad uff my head felt good when he was washing it.

My hair had a very red undertone and I hated it! When I went to replay salon I was very nervous that they would tell me they couldn’t do anything for my hair especially because my hair is Middle Eastern / Iranian and very hard to work with. But thankfully mrs Mana did a amazing job! My hair looks completely different and I feel like such a more confident and happier person. Thank you so much! Will definitely be coming again. ♥️

First time here today. I had Raz wash, cut and blow dry my hair. He was amazing!!! Really can’t fault him, I had an RBF whilst being hungover and he paused to see if everything was okay - little check ups like this are amazing. Staff were super friendly and the environment was lovely, deffo not my last time here! highly recommend. EDIT - I have straightened my hair and the transition in the front to back of my hair isn't there :( The way my hair was blow dried came out so nice, but I think because it wasn't straight we didn't see how edged the hair is. I don't think I'll be going back... :(

Went into the salon for a wash cut and blow dry,asked for my hair to be cut the same length all around,was explaining to the lady I used to have a graduated Bob but I have grown my hair for 2 years for it to be cut all the same length,to end up with another graduated Bob,I asked for my hair to be thinned out,the stylist didn't understand what I was saying another stylist had to step in and explain to her,not one to complain but I have no choice,if I had asked her to cut it all the same length that's what I should have got but she wasn't listening to anything I was saying,and also very rough washing hair 🙃

I have been going here for some years and have always been happy, this time I’m devastated and just want to cry as the haircut is awful. I went to salon to complain and nothing could be done at the time, I was offered to go back another time in the week but could not due to work, in the end I had a refund but it does not solve the problem, upset and embarrassment I now feel. So now I have a lopsided haircut that is shaped one side and straight the other and no chance of getting it fixed this side of Xmas.
