It’s great to see some life coming back to Barnsley, as well as some big brands/chains. There is a good selection of shops and food places, as well as what the market has to offer. The place is well maintained and clean, and with plenty of areas to sit, as well as grassed (synthetic) areas for groups and kids in warmer weather. The water features are also a nice aesthetic addition, and it’s great to see kids having fun in them in the warmer weather!

Barnsley what can I say part of the town is rejuvenated for the better and the best market in south Yorkshire by a country mile absolutely love going there a fair price good quality and very friendly, there's a very busy eating area with lots of lovely choices for what to eat and it's always a dilemma as to what to chose (a very nice desert bar) it's worth a walk around the town, and a very imposing town hall

This place has transformed Barnsley centre, with lots of shops and eating places or just a pleasant area to chill out. Parking is reasonable and plentiful and much cheaper than the local cities of Leeds and Sheffield. Good for a few hours out in the hot weather. Recommended.

We came up from Sheffield especially for wool yarn from unit 47 who are closing down. The lady was very helpful but didn't have what I wanted. Greg's queue was so long we went back into the Market café for a lovely coffee

Really lovely semi-open shopping area. It is covered so you'll be protected from rain but has big entry ways and doesn't feel crammed. There's a couple of nice new shops like TK max re-done all modern and a couple of new food places. It's a wonderful addition to the Barnsley Town centre, I also really recommend having a walk through the market!

New Shopping Center open Now - lots of Big Shops and Restaurants - big Brands . Barnsley was already famous for its variety of Pubs and the Market - Now has a fantastic Facelift - with modern units available to rent- modern covered walkway with open spaces to walk through seating, an up to date mall as good as Meadow hall - easy to get to - as it’s accessible through Barnsley interchange Bus/Train- has access to the Alhambra Shopping Centre which is adjacent with ample parking spaces. It’s definitely a place for business- but also a place for leisure with Cinemas and Super Bowl soon to open too . The Library which is also, accessible at the Glass Works. It’s packed with multiple options for all ages. Grass areas , fountains - as well as buskers and entertainment- hustle and bustle of a busy town full of people living . Come and have a look 👀😊👍

I do wish that every place had a market like Barnsley. The area around the market has been completely renovated. Restaurants, the library and the cinema all dotted around the square. Well known shops are contained around the area too. The bus and train stations are easily accessible. This is town planning at its best (I remember what it was like before!) in the enclosed market hall … The fresh fruit and vegetables were excellent - really good quality. The deli stalls were great - talking to some of the stall holders they cured and prepared much of their own produce. The meat and fish stalls were busy, again fresh and good quality produce at an affordable price. I go back here frequently when visiting family to stock up on items I can’t get at home! The market is well laid out with many other stalls selling a variety of products. There are food stalls and seating where you can grab a bite to eat. All in all a great place to do your shopping if you want fresh, local, affordable produce.
