Mercure Edinburgh Haymarket Hotel

Lovely hotel in brilliant location, 10-15 min walk to the Castle. Rooms lovely, clean and comfortable and nice bed. Staff very friendly. Only criticism is when the bar was busy, we waited 10 minutes to be served. Nice breakfast. Would stay again.

The hotel itself is very nice and clean with very modern amenities. It's a bit of a walk from the Royal Mile and Old Town so it's not the most convenient for those locations if you don't want a 20-30 minute walk. Other than location it's a nice place to stay.

Firstly, the staff in the reception seems like don't know about the award for the silver membership.The All App shows that I have the welcome drink, but when I phoned to reception at that time, she said that only gold membership has it.Although I got the drink finally, I still felt wierd. The staff who do the house cleaning seems not very motivated, they didn’t greet to the consumer actively. The hotel bar and the room is not as big as expected(Photo on app). The ac seems can’t work well.And the Duvet is not thick so I feel cold in the first night.

Although the room was small, it was cozy and comfortable. Two things on the not so positive (but I wouldn't call them negative either) side: In the bathroom there were no bars to dry the towels (but they were changed as often as necessary), and there was no toilet brush - it may be a UK custom, I don't know, but I'd prefer to have one. As for food: delicious breakfast at a reasonable price. Staff: super-helpful, always smiling and ready to help. The sights are within 15-20 minutes' walking distance, so okay if you are ready to move a bit. On the whole, I Ioved staying there and I'd go back there any time.

We changed to this hotel after an issue with another hotel chain. This hotel was lovely, the rooms were nice and spacious. There was a kettle with tea and coffee and also bottle water replaced every day. There was also a hairdryer, ironing board, and iron. The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was well worth the money you had a choice of hot and cold breakfast with tea coffee and juice available. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely come back when I'm back in Edinburgh.

Nice clean room, that accommodated our small family very well. Breakfast was on point and definitely worth it. Friendly staff and good location.

Very nice hotel. 15 minute walk to the castle and shopping district. Breakfast buffet was nice with a good selection. Wad a small dinning room but staff was present and no table went un bussed for more than a few minutes.
