Taylor Ferguson

Mutton dressed as lamb. Booked myself and my mum in for haircuts hoping to have some kind of extravagant experience and walk out feeling like a million bucks. Normally get a full head of foils and Taylor recommended I get the archaic cap highlights. I think this was suggested because my hair is thick and it’s time consuming foiling it all. Says he has 60 years experience so I trust his input despite knowing what result I’ll likely get with cap highlights. The colourist does the cap highlights and its agony. Result is exactly what you expect, chunky highlights that bled slightly at my roots and looked bad. When I mentioned that the result is not what I asked for, Taylor just left me sitting there for 30mins and didn’t come back to finish my cut. When I went to pay I asked why it wasn’t finished and he said it was. So I had my hair cut before the cap highlights, then never touched again after colouring. They tried to charge me £265 for cap highlights and honestly, a quite outdated haircut that I never asked for. Then I told them I wasn’t paying for the colour as it was very far from what we had discussed. They were so rude, particularly his wife who was so aggressive, was shouting at me in the store and asked me what I wanted them to do. She didn’t even try and resolve it and had shockingly terrible customer service. They still charged me 100 for mine and 175 for my mums (which was honestly mediocre at best - could still see some of her greys after her colour). Eventually we had to threaten them to get my money back after we left the store because of how they were treating us. These people want your money and will cut every corner they can to give you a result that they think is good. They couldn’t care less what you think. I had to contact citizens advice and report them because their behaviour was unsettling. They’ll occasionally throw some racial slanders out there too. Disgusting business and so confused as to how it’s still in operation.

I really wish I'd read reviews before going, rather than trusting blogs and acquaintances who go to a different stylist at the salon. I ended up getting my hair cut by Taylor himself. The way he pulled my hair, I thought I was going to cry and even said ow that hurts to try and see if he'd stop. He didn't seem to check if the hair was cut evenly as I've found one strand that's a few inches longer than the rest of the hair. John diffused my hair and the amount of product he used on it left it a crunchy mess that made me embarrassed to walk out of the salon. And what others have mentioned about them gossiping about other clients is so true. It was my very first time there and everything about their service made me extremely uncomfortable. Will not go back.

I have been too upset to write this until now. I used this salon several years ago when a stylist called Michael was there, he was fantastic so was Ian. However it's changed days. I got my cut and colour done one week and ordered hair extensions for the following week. I was booked in with John. He told me he was trained to do hair extensions but didn't normally do them but because Taylor had cut my hair the week before he got no commission so he was putting my extensions in. I didn't give it much thought however after leaving I thought the extensions were placed very far away from my scalp which had never been done at other salons. Then by the following week a lot had fallen out. I phoned the salon to see if this was normal and the lady who was Taylor's wife answered the call, she said no it wasn't normal. She asked what salon I attended and I said it was her salon she asked my name and then told me she had no records of me ever being in was I sure?! I said yes John had filmed my haircut and put it on their social media! Oh she said well just come in and let him see it. I asked when should I come in and she said whenever I wanted that they didn't give appointments for things like that so I'd just come in and wait until John could see me. I explained I had no time to do this as I'm self employed but she refused to give me an actual appointment. I emailed in to Taylor and I got a message back written in capitals saying they had never had an issue with great lengths extensions. Never an apology. I explained it was not the extensions but the way they were applied. By this point 22 had fallen out. He reiterated I'd need to come in and wait that no actual appointment would be offered. Awful customer service and I paid a lot of money for it.... never ever will I return. The place was empty the twice I attended and no wonder. The comments they were all chatting that you overhear are awful, they are about personal things and you overhear very politically incorrect comments. The girl with the very curly hair that sits on the desk had a call and was extremely rude to the person then came over to the guy doing my hair and reiterated the whole conversation in front of me laughing at the person. Little did I know I'd be making a similar call a week later. Overpriced, shoddy work and an overall sickening experience.

I visited the salon for the first time today and had my hair cut by Taylor himself. Taylor gave me the best cut I've ever had. He knew exactly what would suit me and what to do with my thick on the top, thin on the bottom hair. I am so thrilled and cannot recommend him and the salon enough. I also had a blow dry from the loveliest lady but I can't remember her name! Just a fab service and well worth the money, will definitely return the next time I'm in Glasgow.

Had a cut, style and blowdry booked with John on recommendation by a friend. Cannot recommend both him and the salon highly enough. Clearly had a great knowledge of how to work with hair and one of the best cuts I’ve had. Listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered perfectly. Over the moon 😊

If I could give this Salon 0/10 , I would. I received a terrible, disgraceful cut u0026 colour from Taylor Ferguson. I went back to complain, however the Ferguson policy is that the paying customer DOES NOT THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN. THE CUSTOMER IS NOT RIGHT, ACCORDING TO HIS argumentive and verbally aggressive wife Anne. I paid £225 for a cut that has left everyone horrified at the result. I consulted 3 stylists, who were horrified this was done to me. It's so bad, I now need a human hair wig to cover the mess Taylor Ferguson made. Instead of paying £225 for a terrible cut and colour, I ve had to pay double for a human wig until my butchered hair grows in. KEEP AWAY FROM TAYLOR FERGUSON IN BATH ST GLASGOW. THIS GUY HAS BEEN TRADING ON A VERY OLD REPUTATION. KEEP AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY u0026 AND YOUR PRECIOUS HAIR. I'M STILL STRESSED AND UPSET AT THE SHOCKING MESS HE MADE OF MY HAIR FOR £225. I feel sorry for old Taylor. His wife Anne is still milking that old doddery guy for all he's worth. 🤣 UPDATE 5/11/23. Still wearing a baseball cap to cover the Mullet. Also true to my word, I purchased 2 wigs to cover my shame. 😔

I was thrilled to get an appointment with Taylor Ferguson. Warm atmosphere and left the salon feeling 100% better. My hair was in bad shape and following a recent stroke, I needed some pampering. The whole team were fantastic and my cut and colour have made me feel like a new woman. Thank you so much to Taylor, Anne and John.

Questions: does Taylor really know how to cut hair or he doesn't care about the results and he just wants our money? Starting with washing I wasn't happy because washing wasn't done well and there was no conditioning. Haircut isn't even, it doesn't flow, some strands are longer, some are shorter. Taylor had another customer at the same time and his attention was divided. He called somebody else to blowdry my hair and this is why I didn't notice the faults. He did come back to check but, as I said, my hair is unevenly cut. I won't go back there, I will stick with Tony and Guy. The bill came much higher than Tony and Guy but quality is very low. Why should one pay such a ridiculous high price to have their hair chopped off? After almost 2 weeks, I am more and more angry every time I see myself in the mirror. Avoid the place if you like yourself.
