I started my dual Italian-American citizenship journey in September 2018. From the first email to Arturo to receiving my Italian passport this last Monday, everyone worked diligently and unrelentingly on my behalf. It was a long journey, as the dual citizenship process is because of court availability and other timing matters having nothing to do with legal representation. I was a so-called 1948 case, meaning Italian law required me to go to the court in Rome (as opposed to my local consulate) to be recognized as an Italian citizen. The Roman court rejects many citizen petitions if not done absolutely perfectly. With MLI, it was smooth sailing. The court granted my petition without hesitation. Afterward, the very small municipality from where my ancestors derive had no idea how to process my citizenship order. Arturo ensured the municipality understood its obligations and efficiently completed my registration and issued my Italian birth certificate. When the local consulate questioned my use of my married name on my passport (and therefore delayed issuing it), Arturo jumped in, communicated with both the municipality and the consulate, and made certain I received my passport immediately and under my married name. If it were not for Arturo and the rest of the team at MLI, I am certain I would still be struggling with my citizenship recognition - acquiring my Italian passport would be years away. Because of Arturo and his team, I am now a dual citizen with a shiny new Italian passport! I couldn't be happier or more grateful for all their hard work and efforts.
