Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel

Staffs were very friendly. The room itself was a bit run down and dirty. Love the decor though. Only valet parking was available, we paid $39 per day, and their service was great. We were put in a room between 2 rooms full of guys partying, so it was a bit noisy when they went in and out of their rooms all night. Luckily they left after 2 nights and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. Location was very convenient, there are many restaurants and shops around the hotel.

The prestige of the Marriott Renaissance fell short of our expectations in an unimaginable way. We found ourselves victims of an unfortunate incident - our car was stolen from the hotel’s valet parking. The incident itself was shocking, but the response from the management was even more unsettling. Despite our predicament, we were met with a lack of empathy and support. The unresponsiveness of the hotel management left us stranded, grappling with not only the loss of our vehicle, but also the cost of a rental car to journey back home. The Marriott Renaissance has always been celebrated for its service quality, making this experience all the more disappointing. Regrettably, our pleas for aid were met with silence. The communication gap from the management team has soured our experience and challenged our faith in the brand. Sharing our experience is not about spreading negativity, it’s about ensuring fellow travelers are informed and can make empowered decisions. Here’s to hoping that the Marriott Renaissance takes this feedback on board and implements measures to prevent such incidents from reoccurring. If you’re considering a stay, we would advise you to weigh your options carefully. Travel safe, everyone!

Rooms are pretty nice, and well appointed. They had a bluetooth speaker available to pair your devices. TV wasn't the greatest, the remote didn't really work for anything but on/off and channel and volume up/down, none of the other buttons seemed to do anything. YouTube channel didn't really work, it kept going back to the guide after a minute of videos or so. Housekeeping was great. I was there on vacation and slept in every day and they still cleaned my room and provided fresh towels. Great location, close to Saint Catherine Street and the Metro.

Location is great and works out well when visiting old Montreal. It’s close to two metro stations and walking distance to old Montreal. Staff is friendly and helped with local knowledge. Valet parking is expensive so we decided to park at the nearby shopping mall - Eaton center. We were able to park overnight for half the price there. Room was nice. Hotel has artsy feel to it, however I expected more from the top Marriot brand. Rooftop bar is great.

Love the staff. Love the vibe. Love every single detail of the design of our upgrades suite. There's no lounge for elite members. Breakfast is a la carte. Gym is small but have everything we need. u0026 the location is super convenient near Eaton Shopping Center u0026 Time Out Market. Worth every penny we spend.

Stayed here last month and was sorely disappointed in the maintenance/cleanliness of the room — it was not up to the Marriott property standards I know and love — I ended up cutting my stay short because of this. The rooms seriously need a deep clean! The carpet didn’t appear to have been vacuumed at all. Dead bugs and dirt on the window sill. TV had some damage to the screen (lines running through the picture). I understand/expect wear and tear but the bathroom seems to have never received a proper cleaning: mold/mildew stains around the sink, shower floor and tiles and the corner behind the garbage can was caked with dirt and grime. I also discovered some old vomit on the carpet/wall that hadn’t been fully cleaned, if at all. When I brought it to the attention of the staff they were apologetic and said they would get the room cleaned and speak to management. When we returned the majority of the vomit was gone, but still not 100%. Sorry to say whoever is responsible for approving the turnover of these rooms is not doing a thorough job. I also noticed that even the lobby was dirty — floors looked like they hadn’t been swept/vacuumed. Note to Management/Owners: please prioritize cleanliness — this is a beautiful property that should be taken better care of. Pros: location, generally friendly staff, style/ambience.

Staff was great. Rooms funky u0026 nice but dark. Shower head malfunctioned and we had to call for help twice. They responded quickly. One thing to address - please add lounge chairs near the plunge pool and keep that small area nearby reserved for hotel guests only. It was a full bar setup at happy hour, which ignores guests who would like to lounge in the sun. No bueno.

Amazing location, downtown Montreal. Lots of road construction around the area but that’s normal for Montreal. No parking on-site but they do valet parking at a nearby lot. Expensive parking in comparison to other hotels nearby. Rooms are OK, my shampoo bottles were empty but they were quick to refill it. I found someone’s shorts underneath my bed. Bed sheets had some stains on it. Water pressure in the shower could be better. Front desk is busy and could use more staff for help so less waiting for guests. Overall I would stay here again.
