Haultain Fish & Chips

Place got recommended by someone and I found it absolutely horrendous. I ordered two cod burgers and chips. The burger was soggy came with mayo not tartar sauce and they used processed cheese. $17 each. Like I didn't even get shredded lettuce on them. The place is out dated and humid. I don't recommend. The chip portion was good, flavour was bland.

Very warm, welcoming, and delicious food. Able to accommodate for gluten-free, extra candies after the meal was very sweet

My meal tastes like left overs. The halibut was old, the fries were freezer burnt. Better off to buy and cook yourself

I went here last night 🌙 around 8:00 pm and ordered a 1pc halibut and fries and a 4 chicken strips with fries. The price was right with %10 tip $34.00 for all of it. Plenty of parking outside. 30 minutes wait for my order. The inside of this restaurant looks the exact same as the day they opened retro was kinda cool. When I got the food it was wrapped beautifully in paper then newspaper. The fish was separate from the chicken. I went home and opened the packaging was happy to see 5 chicken strips instead of 4. The halibut was smaller than a half if a chicken breast, the halibut was possibly previously frozen. The oil on the fries tasted sweet like vegetable oil. It was not horrible but not a restaurant I would go out of my way to eat. My cat didn't mind the chicken and halibut that says another because she is a picky eater 😸 I went there today because I remember everyone saying they had the best fish and chips in town. I would have to disagree. The fries were unsalted and the batter on the fish was flour I'm pretty sure on thin dip. Anyways unfortunately I will not return unless you update your menue/batter.

Quite good. Crispy, well-cooked fish with a thin coating, good coleslaw, fries that came into their own with a little salt and malt vinegar. Not the best I've ever had, but I'm from the east coast and Atlantic cod is awesome, but solidly good, and would return.

The gentleman and his wife were there. when I ordered my fish to go I was told 15 minutes which is really a long time for fish in a commercial fryer so I think the fryer wasn’t hot enough or they weren’t set up yet for the day as there was no one else in there, but the door was open. I was extremely excited to try this since it comes up as number one place to get fish and chips, and I have to say the fish didn’t have enough crisp. It didn’t crunch when you ate it and was kind of like the inside of a pancake when there’s uncooked dough. They aren’t cheap at Haultains but they should be consistent

Haultain is everything i want from a fish and chips restaurant. It’s a mom u0026 pop with 2 very sweet and nice owners. The food is simple it is definitely not fine dining fish and chips but it hits the spot. Halibut i had was fresh abs delicious.
