Forbidden City Chinese Restaurant

Worst food in the downtown core. I paid $60.00 for take for two people, the price didn’t bother me. First off the tip option when you order online was taken automatically and you have delete this manually, tips are for good service and not automatic! The food was bad! Chicken balls that tasted like flour with a very small amount of chicken, fried rice that was not real fried rice lol and next to no sauce for my chicken balls! Egg rolls with next to nothing in them…and the inside of the restaurant was dingy and dirty! And of course a tip option in the debit machine for a pick up order.. tipping is for good service! Not an automatic thing! Your food was awful! Never again, and I live just up the street!

They use msg: The noodle for low mein is a soba noodle which was not expected. The chicken balls are as soft as donuts. If you're looking for the worst chicken balls come here. Also - very expensive - 13 dollars per chicken ball order. Which is outrageous for how bad they are. Don't order chicken balls, unless you want them to taste like soft timbits

This is delicious Americanized Chinese food. The lady that works here is so friendly. I love the egg rolls and spring rolls (I think hand made) and the spicy beef rice (in picture). I always find the veggies fresh and the fried food tastes like it comes from a clean fryer. The special garlic shrimp is also a favourite.

Loving the food here ! Chicken ball and chicken fried rice are awesome. It is appreciated that they uses chicken breast for the chicken ball instead of chicken leg. Also the beef and mixed vegetable and chicken with mixed vegetables are highly recommended, which are both juicy and tasty. By the way, the hand made Spring roll here are the best I have ever tried.

Very Disappointed, rice was overcooked so it mushy, spring roll was not cooked the inside was grossly undercooked, and the chicken balls were not crispy. I remember years ago forbidden city was the place to go, I also remember the awards for 2 years in row for being the best restaurant in Hamilton, Not anymore I guess lol 😆

The Forbidden City, has new owner which I was unaware of. I made a pick-up order over the phone for sweet u0026 sour sauce chicken balls an four egg rolls total: $22 u0026 change Reasonable The egg rolls were different and weren't for me, though I would still recommend them as they may just be the next best thing! Again it's hard to match up with the original chicken ball but amazingly they are a close second and to think... We are only on appetizers... Till next time Review 2 Review 1 revised

Clean and quiet restaurant with great food. The young man serving was attentive and patient when ordering. They have cold canned beverages (Coca Cola brands) and bottled water, I didn't personally check out the bar. The dinner package options are great if you like to load your own plate with the variety of food you get with it. Lots of appetizer options as well. Wonton soup was hot with fresh vegetables and meat, very delicious. All dishes were great. Nice atmosphere.

Ive never had lemon chicken with a corn meal breading...NOT impressed. also when did the prices go up? i paid $27.- for 2 things...lemon chicken u0026 rice. wont be going back.
