12-27-2023 22:55I love this place. At first I was turned off by the customer service but I actually gradually got accustomed to it. It even got better. Turns out the owner is Taiwanese, and that's why there are so many products from Taiwan. Some you can't even find attached Tu0026T! The prices are also really good. The quality of the produce isn't that bad either. (sometimes) and the variety is so broad that you can even get Indian products as well as Korean and Japan. I highly recommend this store if you ever need anything from Asia.

I have on multiple occasions gone home and found the fruits uneatable. Most times the fruit is not fresh, and they seem to buy what is left to sell cheap. Wish I had saved pictures from other occasions. At first, I thought it was isolated occurrence but not the case from my experience.

Prices out of season are comparable to a supermarket but lower quality. To Small to properly social distance and they are not great at communicating with customers due to a language barrier. Staff sometimes have a difficult time directing you to items - I think this is also due to language barrier but hey, they know more languages than I do!

So many unique, awesome foods to try and the prices are very reasonable. The only item I find quite high in price are bananas. Staff is always very welcoming and kind, with no long waits at checkout.

05-23-2023 05:15This is a gem in Burnaby. The Fruits are great, and sometimes you get the really good ones! I have yet to see frozen Durian, but I am hopeful that Joe's will have it someday. Nevertheless, this is where I get my oranges and BC-grown berries when in season. The funny thing is, their small selection of Polish snacks and other European delicacies. Also - they supply Pita Bread from Pita Bread Factory (Winston St.) for those who don't have time to go to the PBF store. PLUS: they also own IMart, and some of the goods are also available in both stores. So - if I can't find my Taiwanese lemon cake squares in Joe's its possible they have it in the next store. Visit Joe's and get that neighborly feel of a Fruit Store.
