Guest House on the Mount

Stayed here during the Rock The Park event. Was a good price, room was clean but simple. Bit of a haul to get down to Harris Park or the downtown area but you can take the local bus which is nearby. Overall it was a good stay and nice to see that they repurposed the old Sister's of St. Joe's site. Keep in mind the rooms are pretty much a slightly updated hospital type of room when booking.

You kind of get what you expect, in a good way. It’s kind of a perfect place if you are here for a few nights and don’t really plan to stay indoors for too long. The bathrooms were actually kept clean which was unexpected for something that is shared. Kitchen was nice as well but small. I’m not a fan of shared bathroom and kitchen but that’s what we signed up for. the only “complaint” i have is that the furniture were starting to show their age. The staff and other guests were pleasant too

Barely any cutlery- try eating cereal and yogurt with a fork or a big wooden spoon. Tea bags were scarce, huge Jar of communal sugar. Tea kettle plugs into a short powerbar by the sink, so it is always sitting in water. Sheets were threadbare. Pillows lumpy. Big hole in bath mat. Shower wasn't cleaned very well, soap scum on wall and the shampoo and soap dispenser in shower were scummy too. Washcloth must have been made of sand paper. Asked for a mini fridge, got one on day 4 of my 6 day stay. It was dirty and gross with an equally gross towel in the freezer. No shelves or tabletop in room, one nightstand. Towel had a hole in it. You have to empty your own garbage and ask for new towels. No room service unless staying for 7 days. I emailed and asked for room service on day 3ish. Nothing. Finally got a hold of someone and my sheets and towels were changed, but no wash cloth given or disposable make up remover wipes. Didn't even empty garbage. Receptionist upon arrival just grunted at us and thrust the debit machine at me. The room has dusty, noisy radiator. I think i fell into a time warp movie of part dorm/nursing home/ hostel. The parking lot is a bit sketchy, not lit very well. The only plus to this stay - my spouse had surgery at UH, so it was close. Would not recommend unless you like no room service, rude reception, taking out your own trash, and scrounging for a spoon. I added 2 nights to my stay, simply for convenience, tried to get a discount as the accommodations were so poor. I was told that they are cheaper here so...

Lovely inexpensive place with nice clean rooms. Good AC. Very quiet and awesome and nice staff. Surprisingly strong wifi too.

A member of my family had surgery at London University Hospital and I stayed at guest house on the mount during this time. It was very close to the hospital and very convenient. The room and services were all that I needed at that time. The room was clean and the staff was very kind and helpful. I ate while I was at the hospital so I had no need for a restaurant. My stay allowed me to remain close to my loved one. I would definitely use this establishment again.

Clean quiet, comfortable and welcoming. Within easy walking distance to hospital. I would recommend this to any future cardiac patents' families.

I really wanted to like this place and booked in for three nights. But when I got to my room there were food crumbs from the previous guest everywhere. After the first night I asked them to vacuum because of the food crumbs. When I came back to my room that evening, it had not been vacuumed. There were no clean towels, just the wet towels I had left in the shower, and the rubbish hadn't been taken out. Of course the bed hadn't been made up either. For $130 per night plus HST, some light housekeeping should be expected. I also couldn't get the TV to work, and there was no phone in the room. The receptionist actually argued with me when I decided to check out before 11:00 am after my second night and asked for the remaining night to be refunded. She said she knew the room had been vacuumed because they had cameras and could see it had been done. I cannot recommend this hotel.

I stayed one night ( June 23, 2023) after reading all those comments and review. It was not matching with actual situation. The rooms are small then expected. Unfortunately I booked three rooms without thinking about attached washrooms. I have requested front desk service to change the booking to rooms with washrooms. She said it's not possible as payment was done though I told I am willing to pay for additional amount. I checked online and found rooms were available. Rooms smelled and AC were not working. Bed cover was little dirty. I communicated Expedia but did not help. The customer service were not professional. Time of communication from 9:30 pm to 11pm. Then I add one room with washroom. Hopefully I will never book through Expedia and recommend to anyone this guest house.
