****important and warning**** If you want to eat the Indian food here, you have two options: Option 1 - call in and order takeout Option 2 - preorder the food half an hour in advance if you are going to dine in This was our first time here. We looked at the reviews on yelp and they looked legit. That was how we came here to try their Indian food. We got to the restaurant, sat down, ordered and waited for food. We waited for more than half an hour. Before we arrived, an Indian lady had been waiting for so long that her face turned black already (I.e. she was very upset to wait for her takeout because of waiting for a super long time). I was going to rate this restaurant three stars before I tried it due to the slow pace of serving. My husband asked me to be patient and convinced me that the Indian food should be really good and it should be better than the ones we tried in Vancouver. Finally the food had arrived slowly and gradually!!!! Oh my god!!! The first dish of lamb curry and the second dish of palak paneer were really good. The chicken biryani and pulao rice were extraordinary that we had never had such good fried rice with many colourful ingredients and spices. The fragrance of each dish dispersed right in front of me. I was eating the most delicious Indian food in my life that I couldn’t compare it with the ones in Vancouver! The Indian food in Vancouver was not as good as this one in surrey; plus the ones in Vancouver cost more!! The roti and naan were freshly made. So good!!! The mango lassi was excellent as well! It was not cold. It was at room temperature, but it went well with the spicy Indian food! What a good combination!! There is parking outside the restaurant. The food was so good that I really wanna come back here and try other dishes.

Food - some items are good some are not (don't try Shahi paneer). Found tomato stickers twice in the food. Service - staff are friendly but order takes longer at times. Samosa took 20 minutes Atmosphere- cramped up space but not too bad. Better for take away. Request restaurant to maintain hygiene in kitchen and make sure stickers and parts of wrappers go to trash, not food.

Randomly found this spot when trying to find an Indian restaurant near by. First time here and had our expectations really low. However, it wasn’t bad at all and we recommend for a quick Indian fix! 4/5 stars for comparing it to similar quality Indian restaurants and not to high end restaurants. We got the lunch special $9.99 vegetarian and $10.99 for meat. See photo for what sides comes with the lunch set. Food took a good 10-15 mins and we absolutely had no issues with that. They had a few orders in front of us but we know it was fresh. Food was hot and didn’t taste like it was sitting there all day. *Note* if you’re not familiar with the restaurants in Surrey, there seems like there’s a Google Map restaurant review war going on. Ignore ALL reviewers with less than 5 reviews on their accounts and pay attention to the reviews they leave. Some restaurants have 1000-3000 5 star reviews by users with 3-5 reviews on their accounts. Completely fake reviews and it’s a shame Surrey Indian restaurants has came to this.

The place was in old looking plaza, shop had a small door to entrance as well. Despite, the look of it, we went. I’m so happy to say that they did not disappoint. The food was so authentic and rich in flavour. We got the amritsari kulcha and chana bhatura. The quantity was big, three of us were unable to finish the two items. We still had three naans and one bhatura left. It tasted so good. The restaurants interior was okay but i feel like they had renovations in process. The reason for not giving 5 star is because the service was a little slow, and we asked for takeout, but girls giving us a tiny box to put the bhatura and channe, not sure what she was thinking. However, will definitely go back because of the quality of food and such reasonable cost.

My recent visit to Swagat left me disappointed, especially after reading positive online reviews. The food, while not terrible, was just okay, falling short of expectations. The real disappointment came from the service, which was painfully slow and made the meal a tedious experience. Moreover, the ambiance was far from pleasant. The restaurant felt unclean, with a noticeable, off-putting odor that hinted at subpar cleaning practices. This experience was a letdown, given the high hopes I had based on reviews.
