The Boathouse Hotel Patonga

Just had dinner here with my wife. We ordered the fish and chips and the fish burger. Both were outstanding. Very generous on the servings and tartare sauce. Staff very friendly too!

Ate at the bistro. It's dog friendly, which is fantastic, and the leash-free beach is across the road. Huge range of drinks on tap, as well as reasonable wine options. Food was very good, with generous portions. I would say mains are $25-38pp, averaging at $30pp. Come early though, because there's usually a queue for a table from about 12 on the weekends.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but the lunch I had here yesterday was so astonishingly bad that I just felt I had to. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was literally just a stale bun, a bit of cheap tomato sauce, some melted cheddar and a patty that managed to be both dry AND undercooked ( how is that possible!?) It had no flavour and was fatty - tasted like a cheap frozen thing badly reheated. It actually looked like the cheese had been melted onto the patty a while ago and then they’d both been sitting around miserably in a warmer drawer. Not a single vegetable in sight. I paid $21 for this depression-on-a-plate. My friend ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was so greasy she couldn’t eat it. She got a bit of salad on her plate but it was a handful of rocket leaves that were totally wilted - it’s looked like they were days old or had been sitting in the sun for ages. At least the chips and the sea views were good ( hence the two stars). We took a couple of bites and just left the rest.

Disappointed. We've been here a number of times before and we enjoyed the food. On the weekend for lunch, we ordered a chicken burger which came out cold and wasn't very pleasant tasting and some chicken wings which had soft skin and were also cold and the fish burger was cremated. Luckily the chips were nice!

Discovered this place few years ago and love it so much. They allow dogs in the courtyard area while we dine and drink. There's a dog park close by. The vibe is so relaxing and chilled. We love coming here with the family when we are on a holiday in central coast. The food is bit on the overpriced side. But still good. Ohhhh their toilets are so nice and beautiful! The rainforest vibes is a big tick!

Spent my anniversary here last night, was an awesome experience, and food was amazing. My fiancé and I shared Hawaiian pizza, the charred greens and prawn linguine. The staff were great and the views from the balcony was very private and lovely. All round outstanding place and will definitely be coming back in the future!

Great food, staff and service. Food and drinks came out quick! We came up from Sydney and it was a lovely place to relax after a walk around the beach. It’s a stunning venue and dog friendly too!

Excellent Day out in this wonder boathouse hotel by the waters edge. Sensational views, great facilities, friendly staff and extremely tasty food on the menu. Highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem
