10-20-2023 08:19A fantastic experience restaurant, every visit will be slightly different. The love of cooking the best seasonal food underpins 'menu'. I say menu like that because there isn't a printed menu. Instead, you have a conversation with your server about what is on offer today. This does lead to exciting adventures. Just a word of warning, I popped in for lunch and it cost me $99!, everything sounded good 😃

10-09-2023 18:48Food is good, it was a really friendly experience when I walked in. The interesting concept is they don’t have a menu, which is cool that they can help you choose the dish based on your requirement. It’s a bit expensive for a regular lunch place. I tried some fish u0026 salad finished off with biscotti u0026 coffee. There are some outdoor seating and the coffee was really good.

08-29-2023 20:21Absolutely amazing place for breakfast. The share boards are a delightful way to share a meal with someone and gentleman who was our waiter was exceptional. Very friendly, attentive and warm. The other staff were also great with their contributions too. We had this booked before we even flew in and are glad to have tried them out. 100% would recommend. We will be going back

08-07-2023 04:37OUR ROMANTIC 60th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION LUNCH + RESTAURANT REVIEW A favourite Italian restaurant of mine has been Luigi’s at 43 Franklin Street, the original site of radio 5KA. It is colourful with a lively atmosphere, excellent food and attentive staff. The menu was chalked on a large wall adjacent to the kitchen for patrons to choose from. That’s all changed now. Nothing on the wall and no printed menus. The waiter came to our table and recited all the dishes that are on offer, from starters to mains. He was good and descriptive of each dish. The problem was that with each item being read out, you forget everything before. It was confusing. At the end of it I couldn’t remember most dishes and had trouble choosing something. Whereas with a traditional printed menu, you can peruse comfortably to make a decision. I explained this to the waiter who said that “everyone says this every day”. The other problem with this system is that there are no prices recited. So if something was more that what you are prepared to pay, you won’t know until the bill is presented. My prawn pasta and Christine’s gnocchi were each $40+. That’s expensive for those dishes. She ordered a side dish of roasted vegetables. When the meal came the waiter apologised saying the kitchen had no vegetables available. Show me a restaurant that doesn’t have vegetables? Then, on the way home Christine (who pays the bills) told me that the 2 affogatos we had to finish were $36 each! I phoned to enquire if this was in error and was told yes it was and that a credit would be given.

A special shoutout to Dav, who consistently crafts the most perfectly blended and delicious coffees. Every visit feels like a grounding experience, reminiscent of home. Luigi has truly built an incredible business that deserves all the praise. Thank you for providing such an exceptional coffee haven! Kannie

04-12-2023 12:04Wow what a fantastic place Luigi's is. We were made to feel very welcome the minute we walked in. The staff and food are awesome. Yes Luigi's is a little in the fact they tell you the menu. The staff are happy to repeat and answer any questions you have. It was great to see the owner Luigi, working tables and happily chatting to guest. We will definitely be back
