Overall experience was good, I think food options are mixed Japanese u0026 Korean fusion. The portion was pretty big, good for sharing! We ordered a variety of foods, from Drunken Lamb Ribs, Ika Teriyaki (grilled squid), Chicken Teriyaki, Shiromi Saikyo Yaki, and Fried Chicken. I personally really liked the Drunken Lamb Ribs 😬 The rest was not bad at all, although the Chicken Teriyaki was good but too dry.. It was pretty easy to get booking for 8 people.. The place is spacious u0026 clean too :) Location is really strategic, in front of tram 30 and close to tram 58.

The dining experience at Izakaya Minami is all class. The dark tile floors and rich wooden furniture create a warm and comfortable atmosphere which is nicely complimented by soft piano music. The large front windows, partially covered with draping vegetation, provide plenty of natural light. As far as the food goes, we were thoroughly impressed by everything we ordered. In particular, the slow-cooked pork belly was phenomenal, with melt-in-your-mouth slices of pork sitting in a delicious Japanese sweet soy stock. This place is perfect for all occasions, be it a first date or a catch up with friends, family or colleagues.

It's a Japanese fusion restaurant and I recommend the clam noodles and grilled squid! I like it very much ~ there is also sashimi and sukiyaki, the overall taste is on the light side. The ambience is perfect for parties and dates, and there's a bar where you can drink!

Last week, we visited for a weeknight dinner. Super cosy vibes and plenty of Japanese and Asian fusion dishes to choose from. Hiramasa Namerou ($17) Japanese-style king fish tartare w/ rice crackers Wagyu Tataki ($23) thinly-sliced and seared wagyu tataki Unagi Seiro ($19) steamed eel with rice and eggs in a bamboo steamer Sweet u0026 Spicy Fried Chicken ($17) deep-fried boneless chicken with rice cakes Sushi Moriawase Main ($39/10 pc) Chef’s choice of assorted sushi platter Everything was tasty and our highlights was the tataki in such a flavoursome sauce. The nigiri was fresh and unagi is always a fave. Did find the portions were on the smaller side than usual but variety was great. Their cocktails look yummy and I’m sure it would’ve paired well with the dishes.

What beautiful Japanese delicacies. The flavours were unique and immensely fresh. The sashimi was presented beautiful and the staff were ever so lovely to instruct us on how to combine the flavours together for the full experience. We indulged in a few dishes and they were amazing. See the images, some may have already been attacked, we couldn't wait to start eating! A must! Great space and location in Latrobe st. Will be back! We’ve been there a couple of times already and it’s time to write a review. Excellent food and environment. One of the best warm sake and wagyu we’ve ever had in Melbourne. The sushi platter was well cut and so fresh. Staff members are also friendly and the chef follows all your requests. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again.

Cozy ambient and great food. The chawammushi has all kinds of seafood in it, goes very well with the fried rice, really satisifying. The portion of the clam noodle soup is quite large, savoury and just sooooo many clams, good to go with a bottle of sake. The grilled squid is cooked just right, with the perfect tender and firmness ratio. Will definitely visit again with friends.

One of the best dinner experiences I’ve had in Melbourne. Literally just left the restaurant. This place ticks all the boxes. Amazing u0026 delicious food, izakaya atmosphere, friendly staff and high quality sakes. Loved everything from the entree such as edamame and fried eggplant over the sweet and spicy chicken and sushi to the pork belly and salmon rice. Staff was very attentive and helpful and service was fast. My personal highlight was the pork belly 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Liked it so much we sent seconds on sushi and the fried chicken too 🤤. Loved the display of the dishes and how everything was arranged. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ll be back.
