The Melbourne Hotel

Pathetic service. The tv they provided in our room was a very old and hence the screenshare/ miracast was not working, when we informed them they could not figure out why it was happening and they did nothing about it. The rooftop bar that opens once a week on Fridays only closed 2 hours early from their usual closing time and none of the staff in their reception was aware of it, so we had to go to another bar. Last but not the least we were not aware of the complimentary breakfast cap of $25 and just to be on the safe side when I asked the cafe attendant regarding any additional charges she said all of it will be complimentary and later found out that we have to pay extra for exceeding the cap.

Totally recommend this hotel, perfect stay. Amazing staff, clean and comfy rooms and great location. We will definitely be back again!

I booked the hotel for the night to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriend. The room was great. I got a complimentary bottle of wine and cocktails in the rooftop bar. They even brought up a piece of cake to the room. It’s the second time I stayed and I love the place. It’s stylish, great location. Clean. And affordable.

The rooms are always fantastic. Very clean and up to date. Even when booking last minute the rooms they have are still fantastic. The staff are always friendly and helpful and will have you checked in quickly. Room service is great and so is the food. The location couldn’t be better, right in the centre of Perth with both a bus stop and temporary parking out front. Around the corner is secure parking at only $10 a day on weekends. The prices here are great especially for what you get.

Nice venue. We used only the function room which included catering. Did was deep fired and pastry type and was nice quality. Room was a bit cold but once we worked out the air conditioning controls, it was fine.

Enjoyed everything about this hotel! Our room was enormous, nicely renovated with a great view of downtown Perth. Room was also squeaky clean and bed/linens were great. Location was also exceptional as we were within easy walking distance of tons of shopping and dining. Would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at the Melbourne Hotel was originally booked for a friends wedding. Unfortunately, the bride passed away before the wedding took place and when I tried to cancel my booking I was told I would only be receiving a credit to be used within 12 months. I didnt think this was unreasonable however I did give the hotel about 3-4 months notice with our request to cancel with a refund which was denied. In the end after much back and forth with reception (communication was always prompt and polite), we thought we would have a little staycation with the kids. The bed was really comfy and fit myself, my husband and my child. We ordered a cot to be sent up to the room. The cot was $20 and was stuck together with masking tape, so this was disappointing as we thought it was going to collapse on the baby. Before going out we ordered some chips for the kids while we got ourselves ready. They arrived cold, brown and with no seasoning- $12.50 for those. So again, a little disappointing. The window at the far end of the room was also broken which meant if our child wanted to, they could have used a chair to climb up and out the window, so this had to remain closed. Parking was also $30 and dont remember ever being told there was a charge for this, especially as parking directly outside the hotel is free after 6pm. All in all, the hotel room itself was very well presented and it was in close proximity to lots of cool bars and nice restaurants. It was very clean and tidy and staff were very friendly. Not sure if we would go back, though its definitely not a “no”.

Didn't know what I was expecting, but the place far exceeded that. The rooms were great and spacious, service from Des at check in was great. Popped down for breakfast on my last morning expecting expensive hotel breakfast, but it was well priced and the waitress was very friendly.
