Alter It Richmond

I took a sport rain jacket to have a zip replaced, i provided flexibility and was told it would be ready after a week and was quoted a price range. 5 weeks later I go and collect the jacket and firstly I get an invoice of double the price i was quoted which was never confirmed or accepted by me and secondly the job done is really of poor quality. The zip is shorter than than the previous, doesn’t go along the full length of the jacket and of very poor quality. First and last time I will visit this place. Update: a week later and the stitching is coming undone

I really wanted to like Alter It Richmond. I've used the Hampton location for years and have always been happy with the results, and I expected to receive the same quality of service in Richmond, but unfortunately I have left disappointed every time. My last experience was so bad that I have decided to never use them again. A couple of months ago, I brought in a suit jacket u0026 pants for alteration, and a pair of pants for mending/dry cleaning. I was told that I could collect my order in a week, and that I would get a text message when it was ready. I waited for 2 weeks without hearing anything, so I went to the store to follow up on my order. I found out that only part of my order was ready. The suit was ready, but they had forgotten which pair of pants needed to be dry cleaned. Fine, everyone makes mistakes. I clarified what the order was, I was told that it would be another week before I could pick it up, and so I returned home with just my suit. When I tried the suit on at home, I found that the alteration on the pants was poorly done and it was causing the fabric to wrinkle/pull strangely in the back. I waited another 2 weeks without hearing that I could pick up my other pair of pants, so again I went in to the shop. My pants were ready this time, and I took them home only to discover that they hadn't been mended! I considered taking them back to get the mending done, but I don't want to go through all of this again. I'll find another tailor to fix the mess they made of my suit, and to actually mend my pants.

I was riding passed the place with my cycling gloves. There was a torn stitch on one of the gloves. The lady fixed that in no time wishing me a good day. They made my day! Wonderful service! I recommend it!

Very happy with Alter It, Richmond. They accommodated my needs of a quick turn around on two items, within two days. Anna did a great job, u0026 I can't thank her enough!

They say a tailor can take something that looks and fits okay - and transform it into something fabulous! I’ve been taking my clothes to Alter It Richmond for 14 years. No job is too big or too tricky. They’ve even done emergency alterations on my way to a work event. Brava to Diana and Anna and the team. Highly recommended.
